The Behavior Data team focuses on maximizing data as the primary lever to robustly and continuously improve our AI models for scene prediction and behavior planning to help achieve Cruise’s goals to scale reliably. The team is looking for an intern who can work closely with other engineers within the team and partner teams on exciting problems ranging from building foundational methodologies to demonstrating road performance improvements for our autonomous vehicles. The intern will get to deal with massive amounts of data containing various types of challenging long-tail situations and will have the opportunity to showcase meaningful impact towards improving our technologies.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
1. Work on mining and getting insights from various modalities of data - sensors, logs, text, etc.
2. Doing rigorous experimentation to test various ideas and hypotheses
3. Become acquainted with end to end pipeline from diagnosing issues to training, testing & shipping machine learning models.
4. Build tooling that can help accelerate and scale up our processes
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
1. Knowledge of common python based ML (scikit-learn, pandas, etc.) & DL packages (pytorch, tensorflow, etc.)
2. Experience of querying (SQL) and analyzing large databases.
3. Strong software engineering fundamentals

The salary range for this position is $28.00 - 68.00/hour. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
