Passionate. Demonstrated passion for advancing civil rights and social justice issues, a strong interest in research and analysis of modern socio-political movements’ impact on communities and on political violence, and ready to partner on producing quality research that advances our mission.
Driven. Ability to help our team conduct research to support countering white supremacy and hard-right extremism in the U.S.
Data-Driven. Ability to pull data together in both qualitative and quantitative forms. An interest in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data extracted from open source intelligence.
Mission, Vision & Values Alignment. Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to SPLC's mission, vision and values.
Focus on a few key research projects by working alongside our Intelligence Project Research team to research, write, and analyze data.
Assist in drafting research memos, fact sheets, and other writings.
Monitor news and other sources for relevant information.
Identify useful resources, analysis, and information of relevance for the Intelligence Project.
Collaborate with other members of the Intelligence Project team to support ongoing policy research needs.

The Center pays $17.95 per hour. Interns are expected to work 40 hours a week and there maybe opportunity for supervisor approved overtime.

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.

Interns are expected to begin June 1st, 2026. A minimum commitment of ten consecutive weeks is expected. We unfortunately are not able to split summers.
