Interim Senior / Director of Operations

AI overview

Own fulfillment, logistics, and retail compliance across multiple sales channels while strengthening operational infrastructure as the company scales.

ABOUT BODILY

Bodily is a venture-backed women's health company transforming underserved categories through product innovation and data-driven growth strategy. We design research-backed products for major life transitions—postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, pregnancy loss—addressing clinical needs with the rigor and sophistication typically reserved for consumer tech or luxury retail.

Our investors include Hearst Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and Global Founders Capital, alongside strategic backers Brooklyn Decker, Andy Roddick, and Katherine Schwarzenegger-Pratt. We've built a scaled DTC business with expanding wholesale partnerships (including national distribution at Target) and are executing a growth roadmap across channels.

THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced operations leader to own operations, fulfillment, logistics, and retail compliance across all three of our sales channels (DTC, Amazon, Retail). This is an interim engagement focused on strengthening our operational infrastructure as we scale our retail and marketplace presence. You'll operate in a lean team overseeing an operations associate, collaborating with our supply chain team and serving as our internal touchpoint for all ops, fulfillment and logistics questions and troubleshooting.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

3PL Management: Full strategic and operational ownership of our 3PL relationship. SLAs, performance, cost management, and quality across DTC, Amazon, and retail fulfillment.

Retail Fulfillment & EDI Compliance: Ensuring flawless pack-out, accurate EDI documentation, and full compliance with big-box retailer routing and packaging requirements. Biweekly pickup cadence.

Amazon FBA Operations: Inventory replenishment, shipment planning, and FBA compliance.

Co-Manufacturer Coordination: Managing the co-manufacturing relationship for a functional beverage SKU in mass retail — forecasting, production scheduling, and quality.

Team Coordination: Working closely with our operations associate and collaborate with our production, planning and finance teams on cross-functional operations.

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE

• You've personally managed EDI-based fulfillment to a major big-box retailer — Target, Walmart, Costco, or equivalent. You know what routing guides, chargebacks, and vendor scorecards mean because you've lived them.

• You've managed a 3PL at a strategic level. Not just day-to-day coordination — you've held a 3PL accountable, negotiated SLAs, and known when something was going sideways before it blew up.

• You have consumer products experience. You understand the pace and constraints of a growth-stage business.

• You're calm under pressure. You don't need perfect systems to function. You can walk into complexity and create order without breaking what's already working.

• You can hit the ground running. Minimal onboarding. You've done this before.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with soft line goods or food/beverage products

• Familiarity with Cin7 or similar inventory management systems

• NYC-based for occasional in-person collaboration

Benefits

This is a full-time interim role. Compensation range: $70–$110/hour, commensurate with experience.
