Control Risks is seeking a dedicated and experienced Intelligence Analyst to join us in Melbourne, in support of a high-profile financial services client. Embedded into the client as part of a global team, the Intelligence Analyst will proactively identify, monitor, research, analyze and provide warnings regarding emerging threats and trends worldwide that may impact the client’s security planning and potentially impact the stability of its operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce intelligence products such as threat assessments, red flag reports and strategic briefings to support the client’s global operations.
  • Detect and provide rapid assessments of “breaking” security situations, as needed.
  • Define priorities for in-depth analysis of selected locations relevant to the client’s global interests.
  • Deliver concise briefings on key global developments, trends and security-related content.
  • Identify and develop resources for threat information, including internet, databases, public records, media, law enforcement, government sources, contracted services and other related resources. 
  • Utilize OSINT research methodologies to conduct real-time situational awareness and analysis.   
  • Provide reports or briefings on strategic or specific security issues as directed by the client. 
  • Develop and maintain appropriate industry-related relationships relevant to the collection, evaluation and distribution of security information. 

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in history, political science, intelligence analysis, criminal justice or a related discipline. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate intelligence, protective intelligence, resilience support, geopolitical risk and operational intelligence regarding immediate threats.
  • Proven ability to accurately draw conclusions by synthesizing raw data and information from multiple, unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product. 
  • Experience with OSINT methodology. 
  • Able to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to breaking situations within tight timelines. 
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing and verbal presentation skills. 
  • Ability to deal effectively with others to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts and employ multi-disciplinary analysis both with and without systems support.
