NEXT’s mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive. We’re doing that by building the only technology-led, full-stack provider of small business insurance in the industry, taking on the entire value chain and transforming the customer experience.

Simply put, wherever you find small businesses, you’ll find NEXT.

Since 2016, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of small business customers across the United States get fast, customized and affordable coverage. We’re backed by industry leaders in insurance and tech, and we still have room to grow — that’s where you come in.

We are seeking an Integration & Automation Engineer to join our Information Systems group. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and optimize business-critical integrations, AI-powered workflows, and process automations. You will collaborate across departments, build scalable solutions, and ensure the reliability and quality of the systems that keep NEXT running.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain integrations and automations using modern iPaaS and AI-driven automation platforms.
  • Implement LLM-based workflows that enhance decision-making, content generation, data validation, and internal operations.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain UiPath RPA workflows (UI automations).
  • Work closely with Information Systems engineers to design scalable cross-company data flows and integrations across our SaaS ecosystem (Finance, Operation, sales, ect).
  • Build robust monitoring, logging, testing, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure reliability, observability, and high availability.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD practices for integration workflows, including version control, deployment pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Integrate and optimize data flows between systems such as ERP, CRM, HCM, ticketing, and operational platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, BambooHR, Jira).
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical specs.
  • Act as an internal expert for project/task management platforms, ensuring alignment with best practices and process governance.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and drive adoption.

What We Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing iPaaS solutions (Workato preferred, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical skills, including:
    • API integration experience (REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/SAML/JWT authentication).
    • Experience with AI/LLM-based automations and prompt orchestration.
    • Building automated workflows with strong error handling, retries, fallbacks, and alerting.
    • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp complex business processes and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote, distributed teams.
  • SQL knowledge for troubleshooting, data validation, and enrichment.
  • Experience integrating ERP/HCM/CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, BambooHR).
  • Experience applying governance, change management, and best practices across integration/automation platforms.
