The position is part of the insurance team, reporting to the Group Legal & Insurance Manager, placed within the Marine and Asset Operations department, but support the entire DOF Group ASA. The insurance team`s main responsibility is to ensure that the company`s marine assets and liabilities are well insured and protected. As DOF is such a diverse company, we manage a very diverse insurance portfolio making your daily role variable and exciting.

In your position as Insurance and Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the claims handling, and support the placements of the global insurance programs in the DOF Group`s portfolio. You will work closely with the different DOF companies and our insurers to ensure an overall smooth insurance process. You will work with internal and external parties in Norway and abroad.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling of all claims all claims and stay in close contact with internal stakeholders, Insurers and Brokers from notification to final settlement
  • Assist in renewal, placing and management of global insurance programs
  • Stay in close dialogue with Insurers and Brokers in regards to cover issues
  • Monitor and follow up all collections with Brokers and our Accounting departments/Treasury department/Controllers.
  • Sharing knowledge and take part in internal and external seminars and hold courses on relevant insurance topics
  • Assist the Commercial team when new contracts have to be evaluated and pre-approved by Insurers/Brokers

Requirements

  • We believe you have a genuine interest in our business and the marine insurance industry, are customer oriented, structured and can take commercial responsibility on a senior level. You have an open mind and a flexible approach to work tasks as well as a great sense for what to priorities and when
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant working experience from the wider maritime industry would be an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Deep knowledge within several subject areas and ability to lead work of high complexity
  • An understanding of the marine and offshore industry
  • Good communication skills – internally and externally – verbal and written, in both English and a Scandinavian language

This position will be based in Bergen or Storebø, depending on the candidate.
