The Instrumentation Technician Supervisor provides technical and operational leadership in support of Air Force test and evaluation missions by overseeing the planning, integration, operation, and sustainment of advanced airborne instrumentation systems installed on tactical aircraft platforms, including but not limited to the F-15E, F-16, F-22, and F-35. This position combines firsthand technical expertise with mid-level supervisory responsibility, ensuring instrumentation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with mission schedules and operational priorities. The supervisor serves as a primary coordination point between technicians, Operations personnel, and Aircraft Maintenance Units, supporting mission readiness, data integrity, and compliance within a secure environment at Nellis Air Force Base.

Roles and Responsibilities

·        Perform all technical functions associated with the Instrumentation Technician role, including planning, modifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining airborne instrumentation systems.

·        Provide day-to-day supervision of instrumentation technicians and support personnel during assigned shifts.

·        Outline task objectives, assign personnel and resources, and establish project timelines to support operational and test requirements.

·        Define work parameters, priorities, and responsibilities for assigned personnel to ensure mission alignment and effective workload distribution.

·        Coordinate instrumentation schedules, requirements, and work plans with Operations organizations and Aircraft Maintenance Units to support mission readiness.

·        Oversee system integration, functional checkouts, mission configurations, and post-mission data capture activities.

·        Monitor the quality, validity, and operational dependability of instrumentation systems and collected data.

·        Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to subordinate personnel.

·        Support compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures in a classified environment.

·        Assist management with reporting, status updates, and continuous improvement of instrumentation processes.
