Reporting to the Academic Chair, the Instructor will professionally manage the learning process of the students and ensure that students achieve established learning objectives to the maximum of their potential. This requires resourcing materials, methods, techniques, and strategies to ensure student success and outcomes are met. This role requires collaborative work with colleagues to create a learning environment which is pedagogically sound, technically supported, and innovative in nature. The position may teach in either the Data Analytics or Integrated Artificial Intelligence post-diploma certificate programs.
How you'll contribute
Prepare and present lessons, assignments, quizzes, exams, activities, tutorials, demonstrations and labs for learners
Present material in an engaging and interactive way
Inclusion of past industry experiences into lesson planning and delivery
Maintain records for the purpose of grading, assess professionalism and track attendance in both theory and lab classes
Organized and concise record keeping and file management
Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment
Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
Mentorship, guidance, relatability
Attend and contribute to Team meetings and continuous collaboration with Academic Chair and other instructional staff to provide the highest degree of learner experience
What you bring
Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree, in-field
Required: 3-5 years in industry, working in an intermediate to senior data science and/or AI related roles
Required: 1-3 years’ experience teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring
Preferred: industry certifications, e.g. Microsoft, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, IBM, Google, etc
Technical Expertise in three or more of the following competencies
AI & Machine Learning: Proficiency in ML algorithms, deep learning architectures, NLP, computer vision, and model evaluation
Programming & Tools: Strong skills in Python/R and modern libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), plus experience with Jupyter, Git, and OpenAI/Hugging Face tools
Data Analysis and Handling: Expertise in data preprocessing, analysis, visualization, and working with large datasets using SQL and data science tools
Applied AI & Deployment: Ability to design, train, and deploy AI models using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrate into real-world systems
AI Ethics & Responsible Use: Solid understanding of fairness, bias, transparency, and ethical considerations in AI applications
Instructional Skills Required
Instructional Delivery: Clear communication of complex topics in an engaging and understandable way
Assessment Design: Creating assessments and rubrics that fairly evaluate student learning
Mentorship & Advising: Providing guidance to students on projects, careers, and research
Human Skills Required
Collaboration: Working effectively with colleagues in interdisciplinary departments.
Critical Thinking: Encouraging and demonstrating analytical problem-solving skills in and out of the classroom
Organization & Time Management: Ability to balance and organize teaching, office hours, grading, prep-work and professional duties
Adaptability: Willingness to adjust approach based on feedback and new technologies
