ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As a member of the education development team, the instructional resource manager is responsible for the development, management, resource coordination of training products, services related to ATSSA’s educational curriculum, and course offerings.


Resource Development

  • In collaboration with the curriculum administrator, contributes to and supports ATSSA’s resource development and execution of instructional products and services in the anticipation of industry and market needs; ensures development and production processes appropriately correspond with assigned educational programming focuses.
  • Applies market research, needs analysis and feasibility for development of new or redevelopment of existing training related products and services.
  • Completes operational requirements for educational development by meeting deadlines, ensuring proper review and coordination of details that bring products and services to market.
  • Supports the associate director of education development, curriculum administrator and accounting, contributes to the pricing strategy for all training resources.


  • Relationship Management
  • Suggested Identifies and cultivates development partnerships to support product growth, market positioning, and effectiveness of training related services across roadway industry platforms.
  • Supports relationship management of print and product fulfillment vendors.
  • In collaboration with the Certification Board, evaluates, updates, and maintains certification procedures and criteria for educational offerings and approval processes that afford professional certification.
  • Supports with the management of ATSSA certification programs and provides support as needed.



Product Maintenance 

  • Provides review of ATSSA training products implementing format and technical change based upon developer/SME feedback or sunsets resources as needed.
  • Completes updates of product content based on technical specifications and industry changes as needed.
  • Ensures appropriate planning and execution of product updates and changes to ensure compliance, relevance, and technical accuracy.
  • Participates in product related planning, marketing and communications work groups as assigned.

 

Inventory Control

  • Manages inventory by monitoring turnover and product availability, reviewing and adjusting inventory levels to align with production and fulfillment needs.
  • Conducts monthly inventory audit and reports across learning and accounting teams as requested.

         Oversees vendor engagement relevant to inventory production and fulfillment services; Including

         reviewing, bidding, and renewing contracts as needed



Other 

  • Supports the Curriculum Administrator in managing additional course development priorities as needed. Provides data Provides data to support development of the product budget and forecast updates.
  • Contributes to the production of reports, presentations, and other documents as requested.

         Serves on internal teams and working groups; provides updates in meetings as directed.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in relevant professional development activities, reviewing professional, technical, and industry publications and content and participating in relevant professional societies.
  • Supports the educationally focused work of ATSSA committees, councils and/or certifying bodies as needed.
  • Participates onsite at ATSSA and industry events as requested (i.e., Convention & Traffic Expo, etc.).
  • Provides back-up to learning department team members as requested.
  • Perform their duties as assigned that drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the association.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience 

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or field tied to product sector and industry; minimum of five years of relevant work experience; association experience and/or experience in a training certification environment preferred; experience managing relationships to successful outcomes; experience with product development and instructional design. Certified Product Manager (CPM) or New Product Development (NPD) certification a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

Ability to drive a variety of projects to successful outcomes at once; customer-centric approach to work; knowledge of basic budgeting and forecasting principals; ability to produce reports and analyze data; proven ability to conduct relevant research and develop recommendations; proven detail orientation and ability to focus and edit detailed information; effective communication skills; ability to use critical thinking to resolve problems and determine solutions; ability to effectively manage vendors and partner relationships.

Salary
$85,000 – $95,000 per year
