Primary Function of Position

The Enterprise Essentials Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning programs and courses that support employee development, leadership  development, and compliance training across the organization. This role also manages the administration of the learning and development (L&D) platform and coordinates with external vendors to ensure high-quality learning experiences.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Program & Course Development

  • Design and develop learning solutions (eLearning, instructor-led, blended, and virtual) for employee development, leadership, and compliance topics.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify learning needs, define objectives, and create relevant content.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Develop assessments and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness.

Learning Platform Administration

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the L&D platform (e.g., LMS), including course setup, user management, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure content is current, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor platform analytics to assess engagement and recommend improvements.
  • Work with internal groups to implement content across a variety of learning platforms, including translating content and conducting User Acceptability Testing.

Vendor Management

  • Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external training vendors and content providers.
  • Coordinate the integration of third-party content into the L&D platform.
  • Ensure vendor solutions meet organizational needs, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to launch new learning initiatives.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Gather and implement feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve offerings.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or corporate learning.
  • Experience working and collaborating with SMEs and other Instructional Designers to create robust content solutions.
  • Experience managing review cycles with multiple reviewers.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships is a plus.

 Instructional Design Expertise

  • Demonstrated application of adult learning theory, analysis tools and process, evaluation tools and models, assessment best practices, and learning objective construction.
  • Ability to work with instructional design processes, tools, and templates.

  Project & Communication Skills

  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple development projects and deadlines, and adapt to project changes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  Technical Skills

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Software Proficiency Required:
    • Articulate Storyline and Rise
    • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • MS Teams, SharePoint, or similar collaboration tools

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
