PURPOSE
This role leads the generation of high-quality research, insight and data analysis to inform strategic and operational decision-making across Basketball England and enhance organisational performance. Insights from education programmes, BE initiatives and wider business data are used to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends and drive continuous improvement across the sport and the organisation.
Alongside this insight-led focus, the role supports the full learner journey across all Basketball England training and education programmes, ensuring effective learner recruitment, onboarding, engagement, certification and activation. The role works closely with technical course delivery partners, tutors and internal teams to ensure training programmes are delivered consistently, to a high standard, and provide a positive and effective learner experience
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive learner recruitment initiatives across clubs, teams, regions, schools, and community partners, and oversee smooth onboarding and high-quality learner communication and support.
- Support the delivery of training programmes by coordinating with tutors, organisers, and education delivery partners, including venue arrangements, course logistics, and financial processes such as invoicing.
- Manage learner progression pathways and promote conversion into active membership, providing clear post-course opportunities and responsive customer service through CRM and communication channels.
- Collect, analyse, and report on learner, programme, and membership data to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform continuous improvement in training delivery and learner experience and retention.
- Lead the development and implementation of Basketball England’s intelligence and insight approach, including assessments, research, evaluation and knowledge management activity
- Interpret intelligence and business data to produce accessible insights and actionable recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making by senior leadership and programme teams, ensuring organisational analytical needs are met.
OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Build and maintain effective relationships with regions, clubs, leagues, associations, and local partners to support the recruitment and activation of coaches, officials, and volunteers.
- Coordinate the end-to-end operational delivery of technical courses, including sign-up, certification, memberships, and learner support processes.
- Develop, manage, and provide performance reports and dashboards, leading programme evaluation and analysis to assess effectiveness and inform continuous improvement to strategies.
- Design, maintain, and quality-assure data systems and tools to ensure accurate, reliable information for strategic and operational decision-making, and implement technical enhancements to improve data intelligence.
- Support communication and marketing activities, including key messages, programme updates, and good-news stories, in collaboration with internal teams.
- Lead time-limited projects from concept through to implementation, applying evidence-based approaches to improve programmes, processes, and learner experiences.
- Comply with all Basketball England governance, risk, and compliance requirements, including safeguarding, equity, conduct, anti-doping, anti-betting, anti-corruption, and confidentiality policies.
- Undertake any other duties aligned with the role and grade as required by the line manager.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
A degree in a relevant subject or compensating work experience in a relevant, related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in a sports workforce development environment and experience of data analysis and insight with an outcomes-based approach to working
Demonstrable experience of:

Project Development / Management: Experience developing or supporting the development of workforce initiatives, preferably for an NGB or third-sector organisation.

Experience of contributing to development and delivery of strategies including research and insight strategies
