About the Role



ACLED’s Innovation Project Associate will be an integral part of the Project Management Office and work closely with the Revenue, Data, External Affairs, and Data Science teams to own the product development pipeline coordination and ensure proper collaboration among all teams.

Role & Responsibilities


This position will be responsible for the following tasks:


Strategy

  • Work as part of the PMO team to ensure strategy alignment with all departments.
  • Facilitate implementation of tasks and activities, particularly those related to Strategic Priority 1, Strategic Priority 4, and Strategic Priority 6 on product management and revenue generation.
  • Potential for Salesforce administration and operational ownership.
  • Coordinate all activities of ACLED’s Innovation Committee and contribute to the overarching innovation strategy.


Product Coordination

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams and departments to integrate best user-focused practices and champion product-centric design principles.
  • Define product strategy and roadmap by creating a vision for the product, outlining its purpose, target market, and unique value proposition, to ensure successful execution.
  • In collaboration with External Affairs and Marketing, draft a strategic roadmap that outlines the product’s future development, including feature releases, enhancements, and major milestones.
  • Support teams in preparation of proposals for the Innovation Committee, ensuring adherence to established templates, consistent quality, and connection to strategic priorities.
  • Ensure that new product ideas and proposals follow ACLED’s User Feedback and Product Loop process.
  • Collaborate with ACLED departments to define product roadmaps, oversee product launch coordination, and ensure seamless cooperation across teams.
  • Ensure strong coordination during implementation phases, including establishing communication protocols and ensuring they are followed.
  • Use Asana to capture tasks, monitor progress, and ensure completion timelines are respected.
  • Ensure interdependent tasks are updated, mirrored, and coordinated when changes occur, including adjustments to deadlines and sequencing.
  • Support feedback collection, onboarding, and BAU transition for all new product releases.
  • Coordinate and support piloting activities, testing phases, and cross-functional review cycles.




Skills and Experience



  • At least 3–5 years of experience working in a nonprofit, technology, research, data, or international organization, supporting project management, product development, or innovation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Project Management, Business Administration, Data/Information Management, or a related field (desirable).
  • Knowledge of the project management cycle; a PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional projects and teams and ensuring effective collaboration across multiple departments.
  • Experience working with externally facing digital products, data products, or web platforms is an asset.
  • Strong skills in using project management tools such as Asana to track tasks, dependencies, workflows, and deadlines.
  • Experience working with Salesforce as a user or coordinator is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and coordination skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.




Terms and Conditions

  • Salary Band: 50,000-52,000 USD (Annually)
