Our mission is to strengthen Box’s leadership in cloud-based intelligent content management and collaboration, transforming how entire industries operate through strategic initiatives, relationships, and partnerships. We are seeking a hands-on, strategic, and persistent individual to build and execute initiatives that drive greater engagement for Box at the senior-most levels of the Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries.

The Industry Principal, Retail & CPG will define an integrated, scalable go-to-market strategy for both Retail and CPG sectors. This leader will establish market credibility through industry thought leadership, shape tailored solutions and expand our industry ecosystem. They will play a visible, active role in growing Box’s presence by building executive-level relationships, influencing major opportunities, and unlocking large-scale deals. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product, and Customer Success Teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Develop a data-driven, long-term, strategic go-to-market plan for Box in the Retail and CPG industries, driving execution through annual and quarterly milestones.
  • Build and grow personal and professional relationships within the industry especially at the CIO and C-suite level, positioning Box as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess and articulate how cloud content management platforms (i.e. Box) integrate with enterprise systems like SAP, Salesforce, Adobe Experience Manager, and custom retail POS or eCommerce systems.
  • Support complex sales cycles by translating content security, workflow automation, and integration capabilities into clear business values for IT, compliance, and marketing stakeholders in large retail/CPG organizations.
  • Lead outreach to senior leaders of Retail and CPG organizations and deepen relationships with existing customers in these sectors.
  • Establish yourself as an industry thought leader and subject matter expert on intelligent content management across the entire Retail and CPG value chain.
  • Become embedded in the industry: speak at events, systematically identify market trends, and collaborate with product marketing to plan and execute campaigns and events that promote Box’s value proposition and increase brand awareness.
  • Represent the overall health of the global Retail and CPG business to Box executive management.
  • Conduct market intelligence, consult with Sales to identify gaps and opportunities, and enable effective alliance programming.
  • Partner with Box’s Business Development team to foster key partnerships with ISVs, Sis, the other leading cloud-based vendors, building a robust industry ecosystem.
  • Be willing and able to travel to visit customers and drive tangible commercial outcomes.

WHO YOU ARE 

Box executives are a cohort of engaged and passionate leaders who share a mindset focused on customer centricity, innovation, and growth. As a leader in this role, you have/are: 

  • 10+ years of experience with proven results driving technology transformation for leading Retail and CPG organizations. Deep understanding of go-to-market strategies tailored to these industries.
  • A strong network of executive-level connections within the broader Retail and CPG sectors relevant to Box.
  • Technically savvy, with experience in web and cloud-based technologies. Solid grasp of the Retail and CPG tech stack, including future opportunities in AI and agentic workflows.
  • A people-oriented personality, taking pride in your personal network and strong relationships across the industry.
  • Exceptional public speaking skills and strong executive presence, with a history of presenting at industry and networking events.
  • The ability to influence both internally at Box and externally in the market. Experience briefing analysts and engaging with industry associations is desirable.
  • The capability to educate, enable, and empower fellow Boxers to expand the company’s knowledge base for Retail and CPG.
  • Experience working on and with cross-functional teams.
  • Results-driven, detail-oriented, organized, and an entrepreneurial self-starter.
  • Creative, strategic, and critical thinker.
  • International experience is a plus.
