Industrial Shop Clerk/Admin (Order Management & Inventory) Description

Our client in the industrial equipment industry is looking for a Shop Clerk/Admin to add to their team in Alsip, IL. In this office-based role, you will support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of an industrial shop, including customer orders, purchasing, invoicing, data entry, and system-generated reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting a machine shop, manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial supplier and be comfortable working within computer systems completing data entry with a high level of accuracy. To be successful, you must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop setting. Industrial Shop Clerk/Admin (Order Management & Inventory) Responsibilities

•    Process and manage customer orders to support shop operations and workflows
•    Support customer product inquiries and prepare quotes
•    Coordinate with shop personnel regarding order status, repairs, and assembly activity
•    Communicate with vendors to arrange orders, track deliveries, and resolve issues
•    Process shop invoices and support billing-related administrative functions
•    Complete high-volume data entry related to inventory, orders, and equipment activity
•    Maintain accurate records within an ERP system and internal databases
•    Generate and distribute system-based reports related to inventory and operations
•    Support inventory tracking, reconciliation, and basic reporting needs
•    Coordinate shop meetings, training sessions, equipment repairs & inspections
•    Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for shop documentation
•    Provide general administrative support to the shop operations team & special projects

Industrial Shop Clerk/Admin (Order Management & Inventory) Qualifications

•    3+ years of administrative and data entry experience related to inventory is required
•    Experience within a machine shop, manufacturer, warehouse, or industrial supplier is required
•    Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are required
•    High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry is required
•    Strong computer skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, are required
