PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: 
 
To assist in the optimization of operational efficiency, productivity, and standardization across our distribution center network. This is achieved through the development, auditing, and ongoing maintenance of engineered labor standards (ELS), the documentation of operational processes, and the participation in continuous improvement initiatives. This role is instrumental in fostering a culture of operational excellence and supporting tangible improvements in DC performance.
 
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
 
Labor Management & Standards
  • Assist in the administration of the Labor Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate reporting, data integrity, and robust end-user support.
  • Support the implementation, and auditing of engineered labor standards (ELS) using advanced time-and-motion studies and industry-accepted methodologies like Basic MOST to optimize performance.
  • Lead LMS integrations with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), overseeing successful system implementations across the DC network.
  • Help develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for supervisors and associates on ELS, and method usage.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and accessible engineered standards, process documentation, and work instructions.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Assist in analyzing operational data to identify trends, root causes, and high-impact improvement opportunities across multiple sites.
  • Assist in the evaluation and execution of employee suggestions across the network.
Facility Design & Workflow Optimization
  • Conduct data collection for slotting assessments, profile analyses, and warehouse flow studies.
  • Support ergonomic assessments and assist in recommending solutions to improve employee well-being and safety.
Data-Driven Insights & Reporting
  • Perform detailed data collection and analysis to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and recommendations for site and executive leadership.
  • Utilize tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau for data visualization and performance tracking.
Other
  • Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information as necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on industrial engineering experience within a distribution or fulfillment environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or a closely related field preferred.
Technical Expertise
  • Familiarity with time-and-motion studies and labor standards development (MOST certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PDCA, etc.
  • Proficiency with Labor Management Systems (LMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Performance Plus, Takt).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD or TurboCAD is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Good communication skills, with a proven ability to interact with and support various stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist in process mapping, cost-benefit analysis, and operational auditing.
  • Understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, trailer hosteling, in-yard inventory, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support our DC network.
