Industrial Digital AI Engineer - W2 only

Our client is seeking an Industrial Digital AI Engineer – Industrial Control Systems (Hybrid) to join their innovative AI and automation startup based in Houston, TX. This hybrid position offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of AI/ML technologies and industrial automation.
 
In this role, you’ll design and deploy AI-enabled control systems, working both onsite in a prototyping lab and remotely for programming and documentation. The successful candidate will possess deep experience in PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI integration, and will have hands-on knowledge of deploying AI models into live industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate AI/ML solutions with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems.
  • Design and commission control systems and instrumentation.
  • Develop edge computing and middleware to connect OT with cloud platforms.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and documentation standards.
 
Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial control systems.
  • Proficient with major automation platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Understanding of AI/ML pipelines and deployment.
  • Familiar with protocols like Modbus, OPC UA, Profinet.
 
Preferred:
  • AI/ML or automation certifications.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
