Role:  In-store & Retail Marketing Specialist

Location:  Gurgaon, India

  

What you will be doing: 

  • Execute in-store retail point-of-sale deployments with offline retail partners, working closely with top, mid and small consumer electronic retail chains/stores in India and retail distributors.
  • Execute campaigns and other customer facing experience in retail stores to drive sales for Google Pixel in India.
  • Execute go-to-market strategies for new product (and feature) launches in stores.
  • Develop methods to track effectiveness of retail strategy through measurement and customer research.
  • Establish and build channel experience / education as a key pillar for offline retail, own and drive user education metrics and grow local capabilities and tools in partnership with global, regional and cross functional stakeholders
  • Be the key point of contact for in-store marketing activities with partner business management teams and marketing stakeholders across India and APAC.

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • Retail Experience: 5+ years of experience in retail marketing, channel marketing, point-of-sale (POS) execution within the consumer electronics or FMCG industries.
  • 8 years of experience with retail marketing along with an understanding of Google's products and/or OEM/technology industry.
  • Experience in managing end to end large marketing campaigns/programs.
  • Experience working with offline retail partners and/or building great retail experiences.
  • Experience in media agency management including working with large budgets.
  • Execution Skills: Proven track record of managing end to end large-scale retail deployments and in-store visual merchandising across diverse retail tiers (National chains to independent dealers). 
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience acting as a primary point of contact for external retail partners, distributors, and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Travel Readiness: Ability to travel as needed to partner locations and retail stores across various regions in India to oversee execution.
  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the Indian smartphone landscape and specific consumer behaviors within the premium mobile segment.
  • Analytical Rigor: Experience developing measurement frameworks or using customer research data to track the ROI and effectiveness of retail marketing spend.
  • Product Launches: Direct experience executing Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies for high-profile hardware or consumer tech product launches.
  • Training & Education: Experience in developing retail "education pillars"—creating tools or programs that train floor staff and educate customers on complex product features (e.g., AI features or camera tech).
  • Global/Regional Collaboration: Ability to navigate a matrixed organization, translating global brand guidelines into culturally relevant local retail executions.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence partner business management teams.
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies
  • Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn and digest benefits and features of AI tools is critical
