The Role:

QS is supporting McMaster University seeking a dynamic and highly motivated regional student recruitment talent to help the university in driving international student recruitment initiatives in India.

 The candidate will deliver recruitment, conversion, marketing, and sales activity across designated markets in the India region. This role will be representing McMaster University and will be expected to travel across key cities within India to deliver recruitment events and engage with agents, schools, other stakeholders, etc. The role will also work to develop and implement strategies to increase international student recruitment and McMaster’s brand awareness across India. The post-holder will be required to travel extensively, often for long periods of time including weekends and bank holidays. The post-holder must be able to operate effectively and autonomously under these circumstances.

Role responsibilities:



  • Serve as the McMaster representative for international student enrolment in the region, with awareness of opportunities and potential challenges/threats within the region
  • Establish a network of relationships to effectively support and maximize regional recruitment to meet McMaster international student enrolment goals
  • Increase leads and international student applications through the development of proactive recruitment activities and engagement, including information sessions, webinars, and yield events.
  • Responsible for meeting application and enrollment goals for assigned program.
  • Effectively manage all event logistics, communications, and supporting partners / vendors relationships, in collaboration with McMaster team
  • Ensure that all regional recruitment activities are aligned with best practices in enrolment management and recruitment of QS & McMaster
  • Regular communication with McMaster team to ensure activities are aligned with institutional and enrolment goals
  • Report regularly on outcomes of all activities related to the role and responsibilities, including relevant metrics and accurate data
  • The candidate may perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The position requires significant travel throughout the country. There will be requirements to travel to other neighboring within the region occasionally, depending on the university needs and market movement.


The candidate will engage in the following job relevant responsibilities including:

  • Recruitment: hosting and attending recruitment events, communicating with prospective students, providing academic program information
  • Partner Management: working with authorized in-region recruitment partners, providing support and training to enable partners to recruit international students to McMaster, while ensuring the quality and credibility of application is met.
  • Application support: providing information to prospective students on the application process, including application deadlines, application requirements, procedures for submission etc.
  • Alumni engagement: hosting alumni events to engage alumni
  • Data collection: the candidate will be expected to document all leads and related activities in a consistent manner as required

  • Reports demonstrating regular, timely and consistent outreach and communication with prospective students, as well as activities and events
  • Achieve application & enrollment goals set for assigned program


Key skills and experience:



Essential Criteria

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification or experience) and experience in higher education, preferably in student recruitment, university representation, or a related role.
  • Advanced English language skills, written and spoken.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within India and internationally as required.
  • Strong presentation, reporting, and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage travel, and remain motivated without close supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
  • Numeracy skills, including experience managing budgets and interpreting basic data.
  • Experience working with international students and higher education programmes.
  • Experience with international recruitment or conversion activities.
  • Experience working with educational agencies in India.
  • Experience promoting or supporting a diverse education product portfolio.
  • Customer service experience and ability to contribute to enrolment or recruitment targets.

 

Highly Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with universities, schools, pathway or English language providers.
  • Ability to communicate in a local language.
  • Experience collaborating across teams or with external partners.
  • Experience using databases or CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience working with diverse, international teams.
  • Awareness of international education marketing practices.
  • Understanding of data protection and intellectual property principles.
  • Background in Health Sciences or Medicine.
