The Role:

QS is supporting Edith Cowan University (ECU) seeking a dynamic and highly motivated regional student recruitment talent to help the university in driving international student recruitment initiatives in Indonesia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in recruiting and advising prospective students from the country for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Role responsibilities:



Recruitment and Conversion

  • Drive student recruitment to meet ECU’s enrolment targets for the Indonesian market.
  • Represent ECU at exhibitions, school visits, agent events, and other promotional activities.
  • Conduct student conversion activities to improve offer-to-acceptance rates (e.g. follow-up calls, emails, info sessions).
  • Deliver presentations and seminars to prospective students, parents, and counsellors.
  • Respond to student and agent enquiries in a timely and professional manner, including those received via Salesforce.

Agent Management and Development

  • Provide training and support to ECU’s authorised education agents.
  • Conduct regular meetings, communications, and visits to key agents.
  • Monitor agent performance and provide feedback and reporting to the ECU's Senior Regional Manager.
  • Identify and assess potential new agents and recommend appointments aligned with ECU’s strategic goals.
  • Explore new recruitment channels and partnership opportunities to expand ECU’s reach in Indonesia.
  • Record all agent interactions promptly using the ECU Digital Logbook.

Market Development and Reporting

  • Identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and student needs in Indonesia.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity, market developments, and agent feedback.
  • Contribute insights to ECU’s regional marketing and recruitment planning.
  • Submit timely trip reports, conversion activity updates, and market intelligence reports.

Compliance and Representation

  • Ensure all recruitment activities align with the ESOS Act, National Code, and ECU’s Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all interactions with agents, students, and partners.
  • Support ECU’s risk management processes to ensure recruitment of genuine and high-quality students.
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as Austrade, schools, and alumni as appropriate.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the International Account Manager (Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Myanmar) and other offshore and onshore colleagues.
  • Coordinate with Edith Cowan College (ECC) to ensure aligned messaging and effective joint activities.
  • Support delivery of in-country briefings, events, and campaign activations



Key skills and experience:



Essential Requirements

  • Educated to first degree level or experience working in the higher education industry.
  • Advanced-level English language skills.
  • Ability to travel across Indonesia & international whenever required
  • Highly refined business presentation and reporting skills in English.
  • High level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and integrity to undertake lengthy periods of travel without supervision
  • Problem solving and organizational skills to deal with complex and difficult situations autonomously as they arise
  • A high level of literacy and attention to detail to produce clear, concise reports and strategies
  • High level of numeracy and prior experience of managing budgets and analyzing basic statistical information
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills to deal with a wide range of contacts, both internally and externally at all levels
  • Proficiency with MS software and CRM tools (such as Salesforce).
  • Understanding of the international education environment and the student recruitment lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in international student recruitment or marketing.
  • Experience working with international students and higher education programmes.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Demonstrable ability to meet enrolment targets.



Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with domestic universities, secondary schools, English language schools and other preparatory entities.
  • Background in event management, sales, or agent relationship management.
  • Ability to speak the local language
  • Experience collaborating interdepartmentally and/or externally.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office.
  • Experience liaising with a geographically and culturally diverse team.
  • An awareness of issues in marketing educational services in an international context.
  • Sensitive to intellectual property and data protection.
