Role Summary

The mandate of the Prepress team is to translate card designs to beautiful, error-free, and quality-checked forms that are ready for press. Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a Digital Imposition Operator to support file imposition and proofing processes in line with our Prepress team’s commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing files for digital print production using imposition software. This role requires a strong understanding of imposition techniques and an eye for quality control. Candidates with a passion for sports and entertainment will likely find themselves a strong cultural fit.

In this role, you will…

• Verify accuracy of layout built from proprietary software; checking for correct specifications, featured subjects and desired card counts.
• From approved layouts, impose cards from extracted data within the layout instructions using Preps, Metrix or other imposition software.
• Utilize print automation software to process incoming jobs, apply conversions where needed, ensuring proper file preparation for optimal outputs
• Operate digital and conventional proofing equipment, ensuring that settings align with specifications for each job
• Collaborate closely with the production team to schedule, prioritize and provide files for print jobs based on timelines and capacity
• Conduct quality checks on layout proofs, comparing to approved files and addressing deviations
• Stay current on industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies related to print production and workflow systems
• This role will include cross-training in other Prepress Assembly functions to provide redundancy to strengthen the overall Prepress organization

The ideal candidate:

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Prepress Imposition Operator or in a similar production role
• Demonstrated proficiency operating and managing projects imposition software (Metrix Software, Preps experience is a plus)
• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and pre-press techniques
• Familiarity with different printing technologies (digital, offset, etc.) and associated equipment
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, especially in addressing technical challenges / errors and optimizing workflows
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flex across multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
