Compensation: $25 an hour, 37.5 hours a week

As an impact investing intern at Rally Assets, you will work with and learn from a leading impact investment team in Canada, gaining a solid understanding of the impact investing sector, the breadth and diversity of impact investments, and the power of impact investing to support transformative change.

 

This internship is being offered as a part of the Good & Well Social Impact Internship Program. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development workshops led by social impact leaders and connect with a community of like-minded peers. Throughout your summer internship with us, up to 20% of your time will be spent participating in Good & Well programming, attending professional development and career workshops, wellness and personal development sessions, a 3-day outdoor retreat, and optional social gatherings and activities outside of working hours. As a result, interns are requested to be available for all 14 weeks and must attend G&W sessions in person in Toronto.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The intern will support Rally’s Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) team in research, data analysis, and evidence-informed decision making. Working within the IMM team, the intern will contribute to implementing Rally’s impact performance methodology by analyzing impact data, developing assessment tools and supporting capacity-building initiatives.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Applicants can expect this role to include the following:

  • Conducting research on emerging IMM standards and providing recommendations on areas for practice improvements across our operations
  • Supporting the implementation of our impact performance methodology:
    • Assist with data cleaning, analysis, and deriving applied insights from impact data
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of tools for assessing and comparing impact performance across asset classes
  • Supporting with the implementation of IMM capacity-building programs delivered to Canadian Social Finance Intermediaries and Social Purpose Organizations

 

QUALIFICATIONS

On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:

  • That you are legally able to work in Canada
  • Proficiency in English
  • Enrolment as a second-year student or above in a Canadian post-secondary program, returning to school in the fall after the internship (graduate programs count)
  • Enrolment in a relevant degree in a field such as business, finance, accounting, economics, international development, policy and/or sustainability, social science, environmental science, data science
  • A record of high academic achievement or commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Experience exploring how impact investing can support social and environmental justice
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and the Microsoft suite of products
