The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking an Independent Expenditure (IE) Research Assistant. This position will support the DGA’s Independent Expenditure Program, which operates independently of gubernatorial candidates and campaigns.
This position will be responsible for supporting the IE’s Research team as needed. Examples of projects may include conducting original research and drafting briefs; tracking campaign finance, media, and ad buying; producing research documents.
The expected salary for this position is $60,000 annually before benefits and applicable withholdings.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the objectives of the IE team;
Collate and distribute daily media clips from a variety of sources;
Monitor campaign finance filings in IE states;
Monitor social media and analyze for trends and flags in IE states;
Draft research briefs on candidates and issues;
Keep abreast of national political news;
Other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Previous political campaign/committee experience required, research experience preferred;
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail;
Experience and familiarity Microsoft Office and Google applications;
Clear and succinct writer.
