Design and specify power-distribution equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards for commercial and industrial projects.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with demonstrated expertise in switchgear design and application. The ideal candidate will hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license and will be responsible for designing, specifying, and supporting power-distribution equipment for commercial, industrial, and utility projects.
This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days remote, 2 days onsite)
Salary: $125-160k/yr
Responsibilities:
Design and specify medium- and low-voltage switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), and related power-distribution equipment for commercial, industrial, or utility projects.
Perform load calculations, short-circuit, arc-flash, and coordination studies to ensure system safety and code compliance (NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).
Prepare detailed drawings and documentation including one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, equipment layouts, and bill of materials.
Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of switchgear and associated protection and control systems.
Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation, witness factory and field acceptance tests, and generate punch-list reports.
