Position Overview: 

Ascend Healthcare is seeking an engaging and detail-oriented Onboarding and Credentialing Specialist to join our HR team, reporting directly to the HR Director. This critical role will manage the candidate-to-employee experience, ensuring a smooth transition from offer acceptance to full integration within the organization. The Onboarding and Credentialing Specialist will coordinate pre-screening processes, facilitate timely completion of onboarding and credentialing documents (including I-9 verification), serve as a point of contact for new hires during their onboarding phase (approximately the first 30 days), and lead new hire orientation on Day 1.  

We are looking for a proactive individual who thrives on creating a welcoming and efficient experience for new employees and can collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. While HR experience is not required, a passion for delivering an exceptional onboarding experience is essential.  

Key Areas of Ownership:  

  • Manage the pre-screening process, including coordinating background checks, required drug testing and collection of credentialing information as requested by each CHC partner 
  • Collect and process new-hire onboarding and credentialing documentation ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. 
  • Serves as a point of contact for CHC Credentialing counterparts 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during the pre-hire, credentialing, and onboarding phases, addressing questions and concerns. 
  • Ensure all required onboarding documentation, including Form I-9 verification and E-Verify, is completed accurately and in compliance with federal guidelines and deadlines.  
  • Facilitate engaging and informative new hire orientation sessions.   
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate training schedules, equipment, and system access for new hires.  
  • Maintain and update onboarding materials to ensure relevance and accuracy.  
  • Track onboarding progress and generate reports for HR leadership.  
  • Analyze 30-day surveys from new employees to gather feedback and address any concerns. 
  • Continuously assess and improve onboarding processes to enhance the candidate and new hire experience.  
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize onboarding workflows, integrating automation and process improvements to drive efficiency and elevate the candidate and new-hire experience 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional working experience in fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.  
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities with strong organizational skills.  
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks to completion.  
  • Proficiency in using HRIS systems and other onboarding tools is a plus.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Passion for creating positive and memorable experiences for others.  
  • Prior experience in a customer service, coordination, or onboarding role is a plus.  
  • Familiarity with employment laws and compliance requirements related to onboarding (preferred but not required).  

Physical Requirements: This is a fully remote position but may require in-person attendance as company needs arise. Please be aware the below physical requirements should be considered prior to applying to the position: 

  • Prolonged Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods during working hours. 
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for using a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. 
  • Visual Requirements: Adequate vision for reading computer screens and documents. 
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for virtual meetings and correspondence. 
  • Hearing: Sufficient hearing ability for participating in phone calls or virtual meetings. 
  • Work Environment: Access to a quiet, dedicated workspace free from distractions with reliable internet connectivity.
