About the Role
We are a growing boutique HR consulting firm that partners with organizations across a variety of industries to provide practical, people-focused HR support. We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist / HR Consultant to join our team on a contract basis to support multiple clients.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys variety in their work, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can quickly adapt to different company cultures and business needs. You will act as a trusted HR resource to client organizations, supporting a broad range of HR functions from recruitment and policy development to employee relations and HR process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for client organizations including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer support
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruitment strategies
  • Coordinate interviews and support hiring decisions
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with employment offers and onboarding documentation

HR Advisory & Consulting

  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to client leaders and employees
  • Advise on employee relations matters including performance management, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution
  • Support managers with coaching, documentation, and HR best practices
  • Assist organizations in building and strengthening their HR infrastructure

Policies, Compliance & HR Programs

  • Draft and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Assist clients with policy implementation and employee communications
  • Support workplace investigations when required

Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Coordinate and support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Assist with performance review processes and documentation
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and HR programs
  • Maintain HR documentation and personnel records

Operational HR Support

  • Develop and improve HR processes and workflows for client organizations
  • Assist with HR systems implementation or improvements
  • Support organizational design, role clarity, and job descriptions
  • Help create HR templates, forms, and process documentation

Additional Consulting Projects May Include

  • HR audits and compliance reviews
  • Development of employee handbooks and HR frameworks for growing companies
  • Recruitment strategy design and employer branding support
  • Training coordination and leadership development initiatives
  • Workforce planning and organizational structure reviews
  • Change management support during company growth or restructuring
  • Development of onboarding programs and HR toolkits
  • Implementation of performance management frameworks

Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist, HRBP, or HR consulting capacity
  • Experience supporting multiple departments or organizations is considered an asset
  • Strong experience with full-cycle recruitment
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different clients
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote consulting environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • HR designation (CHRP/CPHR) considered an asset
