Human Resource Generalist

We’re looking for an experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our dynamic team! In this role, you’ll partner with senior HR leaders to manage day-to-day HR operations for our U.S.- based team members, including large groups of non-exempt employees across multiple states. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional HR support across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and benefits ensuring policies and practices are aligned with organizational goals and our strong global team culture.

What You’ll Do

Employee Relations & Talent Development

  • Be a trusted resource for team members, serving as a subject matter expert on Sago’s U.S. handbook, applicable federal laws, and multi-state compliance requirements.
  • Resolve workplace issues while fostering Sago’s culture and living our HR rallying cry: EASE – Elevate, Align, Simplify, Engage.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend learning and development opportunities to help our team thrive.

Systems Expertise

  • Utilize strong administrative and data management skills to maintain accurate North America team member records, ensuring seamless payroll processing across the U.S. and Canada.

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for North America positions, from job postings and screening to interviews and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers and senior HR leaders to develop staffing plans and compelling job descriptions.

Performance Management

  • Own the annual performance review process for U.S. non-exempt employees—from system launch to employee and manager communications.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and support managers and team members during feedback discussions.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including multi-state regulations (such as California).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation for audits and reporting.

Benefits Support

  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries, escalating complex questions to senior HR and Payroll leadership as needed.

Requirements

  • U.S. based candidates only please.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role supporting both non-exempt and exempt US-based employees.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations and a passion to support leaders of all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal - understanding the perspective of team members of all levels and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, prior UKG experience will set you apart!
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and respect.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills applying your full breadth of knowledge on internal process, laws/policies, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Compensation Details: Base pay: $60,000
