The HR Assistant supports daily human resources operations at Stow’s U.S. manufacturing site in Adairsville, Georgia. This role ensures smooth hiring coordination with the external recruiter, manages pre onboarding from offer acceptance to day one, and upholds accurate, compliant HR processes that align with U.S. labor standards and Stow Group policies. The HR Assistant works closely with the HR Manager, Operations, Finance, and the Belgium HR team to maintain records, deliver high quality employee support, and create a strong employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting Coordination
- Partner with the external recruiter to move candidates through each stage without overlap.
- Schedule interviews based on the recruiter’s shortlist and hiring manager availability.
- Prepare offer letters and manage the candidate handoff from recruiter to HR.
- Track candidate progress and maintain accurate status updates for internal partners.
Pre Onboarding Ownership
- Serve as the main contact for all new hires after acceptance.
- Send offer packets, new hire forms, pre employment requirements, and policy acknowledgements.
- Coordinate background checks and ensure results are completed on time.
- Set up onboarding schedules and communicate first week expectations.
- Work with IT, Operations, Safety, Security, and Payroll to prepare all accounts, equipment, and access before day one.
- Monitor completion of all forms and requirements before the start date.
- Prepare orientation materials, benefits information, and personnel files.
HR Administration
- Maintain employee files and ensure all documentation meets compliance standards.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Support payroll by auditing timekeeping, processing corrections, and communicating with supervisors on attendance or scheduling issues.
- Maintain HR spreadsheets, HRIS entries, and employee rosters with accuracy.
- Process employment verifications, job changes, and other administrative requests.
Employee Relations and Communication
- Support general employee relations efforts, including documenting conversations and scheduling follow ups.
- Assist with coordination of employee engagement events, trainings, and internal communications.
Compliance and Alignment
- Ensure all HR activities comply with federal and state labor laws and internal policies.
- Partner with Operations to track attendance and support coaching documentation.
- Collaborate with the Belgium HR team to ensure U.S. processes align with global standards and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in HR, talent acquisition support, payroll support, or administrative roles. Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with professional presence.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong prioritization and follow through.
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly. Experience with Paylocity, or similar HRIS is a plus.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Customer focused and comfortable working with employees at all levels.
- High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor degree preferred.
