About the Role 
The HR Generalist provides essential day-to-day support across a broad range of human resources functions. This role serves as one point of contact for employees at all levels and acts as an operational partner to the HR Manager. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information, and communicates effectively with diverse audiences. The HR Generalist brings consistency, follow-through, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every task.  

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Support 

  • Post approved job openings to internal and external job boards and maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Conduct initial candidate screening calls to assess basic qualifications, compensation expectations, and availability.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate logistics to candidates and hiring managers with professionalism and timeliness. 

Employee Onboarding

  • Coordinate and facilitate the new hire onboarding process, including offer letter distribution, background check initiation, and completion of required employment paperwork.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation sessions; serve as a point of contact for new employees during their first weeks.
  • Maintain and continuously improve onboarding checklists and materials to ensure a consistent and welcoming experience.

Benefits Administration

  • Serve as a resource for benefits enrollment, changes, and general inquiries related to insurance plans.
  • Partner with HR Manager to administer open enrollment including communication to employees, support sessions, and data entry. 
  • Maintain benefits-related files and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. 


HR Operations & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS; process employment changes such as transfers, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
  • Support compliance efforts including I-9 verification and retention, EEO reporting, and mandatory training tracking.
  • Respond to employment verification requests and unemployment claims. 

Employee Relations Support 

  • Assist in coordinating employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and engagement activities.
  • Support HR Manager during investigations, performance improvement processes, and other sensitive employee matters.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • 2–4 years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of accuracy in data entry, document preparation, and records management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and HRIS platforms.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices  

Preferred 

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent)
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (e.g., BambooHR)
  • Familiarity with benefits administration platforms and enrollment tools
