Comments:
The schedule for this position is Mon - Fri. From 8:00am to 4:30pm
Weekend work required as scheduled.
During Fall Season, Saturdays are usually scheduled.
Split shift or B Shift required as needed.
May need to cover coworker’s vacation shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- MUST BE A TEAM PLAYER
- Bilingual skills helpful
- Experience working with FMLA and FMLA Federal Compliances (Will train candidate)
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficient typing and 10-key skills beneficial
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Great organizational skills
- Oversee Open Enrollment
- Present Benefits information during orientation
- Ability to work 40+ hours (Flexible)
- Prior experience in unionized environment preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in meat processing or other manufacturing setting preferred
- Communication/public relations skills required
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Great attendance record (Less than 2 points, for internal candidates) and no written warnings or suspensions in the last calendar year.
- Self-motivated and work well without direct supervision and ability to follow instructions.
- Minimum of 12 months clerical experience
- Flexible scheduling required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Desk work
- Production and maintenance settings; climbing stairs
- Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
- Slippery floors, cold/hot temperatures, and loud ambient noise
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management
- External: Union
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers unemployment claims, attends unemployment hearings.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. Stays current on recent federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
- publishes and administers personnel policies.
- Processes and requests sick pay.
- Processes paperwork and updates data in SAP.
- May administer employee relations issues. Processes and implements formal disciplinary action of employees, initiates termination procedures and terminates employees as needed.
- Prepares and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data. Maintains HRIS integrity.
- Establishes, evaluates and maintains departmental reports and key indicators. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Directs local benefits administration, enrollment and open enrollment meetings.
- Data Entry Accuracy
- General office procedures including phone calls and filing.

- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
- High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field preferred.

- Base Salary: $45,674 MIN-$50,965MID
