HR Business Partner, UK

TLDR

Take operational ownership of HR delivery across the UK while providing strategic support to selected EMEA markets in a hands-on, accountable role.

Location: London, UK (hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to take operational ownership of HR delivery across the UK, with additional support to selected EMEA markets. This is a hands-on role focused on structure, accountability, and execution.

You will ensure HR processes are delivered accurately, in line with UK employment law and company standards, and act as a trusted partner to managers on employee relations and people matters.

What you will do

HR operations & compliance

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle (onboarding to offboarding)
  • Ensure compliance with local employment law, internal policies, and controls
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR documentation
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure correct salary, tax, and benefits administration
  • Identify risks and drive practical process improvements

Manager & employee support

  • Advise managers on performance, absence, disciplinaries, and terminations
  • Independently handle employee relations cases end-to-end
  • Support headcount planning and structural changes aligned with business needs

Performance, Development & Rewards

  • Support performance review and salary review cycles
  • Coach managers on feedback and improvement plans
  • Coordinate local benefits administration

Accountability & Ownership

  • Take full responsibility for assigned markets
  • Deliver deadlines and compliance obligations reliably
  • Provide pragmatic HR guidance aligned with business priorities
  • Operate with humility and a no-prestige mindset, stepping in where needed
  • Share knowledge and experience to strengthen the wider HR team

What we are looking for

  • 5–8 years’ experience in HR generalist or HRBP roles
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases independently
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law (required)
  • Experience supporting multiple markets is a plus
  • Highly structured, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and hands-on
  • Fluent in English; additional language is a plus
