Job Title: HR & Recruitment Specialist (Faith-Based Schools)
Job Description:
The HR & Recruitment Specialist will lead the strategic recruitment, evaluation, and placement of highly qualified Title I instructors within Jewish and Catholic educational institutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the values and traditions of faith-based schools and a keen ability to identify candidates who align with conservative and culturally appropriate environments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the integrity of school culture matches while ensuring seamless hiring processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Outreach
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract Title I instructors who align with Jewish, Catholic, and conservative educational values.
- Manage job postings and recruitment pipelines across platforms such as Indeed and specialized faith-based job boards.
- Actively source and engage candidates via direct outreach, assessing their fit with cultural and educational requirements.
- Establish and nurture relationships with universities, job fairs, and networks that support nonprofit and faith-based education.
Candidate Evaluation & Interviewing
- Conduct initial interviews to assess teaching credentials, cultural alignment, and potential school placements.
- Evaluate resumes and backgrounds to ensure candidates meet the standards of religious school environments.
- Maintain detailed records of interview insights and candidate evaluations for leadership review.
Hiring & Onboarding
- Coordinate background checks, fingerprinting, and reference verification processes for incoming hires.
- Collaborate with internal teams to finalize employment terms, including compensation and school assignments.
- Submit candidate profiles for offer letter generation and onboarding documentation.
- Apply cultural insight and professional judgment to ensure effective candidate-school matching based on teaching style and values.
- Maintain consistent communication with school leadership to facilitate smooth onboarding and staff integration.
General Human Resources Support
- Address HR-related concerns, staffing challenges, and personnel issues as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and town halls to align recruitment efforts with institutional goals.
- Assist in refining HR policies and cultural training programs to enhance candidate readiness and school satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in recruitment, preferably in nonprofit or educational sectors.
- Strong understanding of Jewish, Catholic, and conservative school values and hiring expectations.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills within faith-based and nonprofit education communities.
- Proficiency in managing applicant tracking systems, job boards, and HR tools.
- Exceptional communication skills and discretion in cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage recruitment projects efficiently.
