ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief Sacramento seeks a Housing Navigator to join the Extended Case Management (ECM) department, responsible for securing housing and supporting housing-related tasks for newly arrived refugees in the CalAIM program and other resettlement initiatives. The primary focus of this position is to secure affordable and safe housing for program participants and ensure that participants receive complete and timely apartment setups. The position focuses on supporting refugees by offering vital services that help them regain stability and promote long-term integration, primarily through essential housing-related tasks.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct outreach and establish new relationships with apartment managers/landlords, prioritizing affordability (i.e., subsidized housing, new zip codes, houses, etc.), safety, and program standards.
Participate in Continuum of Care (CoC) meetings and similar housing coalitions, advocating and collaborating to expand housing opportunities for refugee populations, individuals with disabilities, and older adults.
Secure and confirm safe, clean, and affordable housing for clients across multiple programs, including application, lease signing, and apartment set up.
Assist clients in securing financial assistance, including housing deposits, moving costs, reasonable housing accommodations, and other necessary supports.
Conduct individualized housing needs assessments and develop housing support plans tailored to each client.
Provide comprehensive case management services, including maintaining accurate and timely client notes and documentation in accordance with program standards.
Develop, modify, and facilitate individual and group housing workshops for clients, covering topics such as housing options, budgeting for housing, becoming document-ready, tenant rights and responsibilities, and other topics.
Problem-solve with staff and provide regular updates to ECM leadership regarding housing needs, challenges, compliance, and numbers served.
Conduct home visits to assess client needs and provide support services in alignment with program goals and safety protocols.
Support team, as needed, with in-kind donations
Reconcile purchases with credit cards and Cyrus
Assist the ECM department in any assigned tasks to complete services related to housing.
Achieve grant requirements and deliverables through timely, high-quality services.
Participate in quality assurance activities, case conferences, and staff trainings.
Collaborate successfully across World Relief Sacramento staff and departments, as well as with external partners.
Participate in weekly staff meetings and other meetings as instructed by supervisor.

1–2 years of demonstrated experience successfully securing safe, stable, and affordable housing for individuals through resource coordination and advocacy.
Knowledge of housing and homelessness programs in the Sacramento region, including relevant funding and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft office and in using online portals.
Willingness to occasionally provide services outside of normal work hours (evenings and weekends).
Strong communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
Able to drive medium to large passenger vans or box trucks to and from apartment setups.
Must have access to a reliable, private vehicle and insurance that can be used for local travel and transportation of clients
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Medi-Cal, CalAIM ECM/Community Supports, landlord-tenant laws, and supportive housing best practices preferred.

Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to speak clearly and comfortably on the phone and in person with partners and clients, which include people with limited English abilities and/or the use of interpreters.
Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
Proven ability to utilize digital communication tools, such as Zoom, TEAMS, and other platforms.
Ability to work as part of a team and support program-specific volunteers and interns.
Proven success achieving goals and working effectively with all levels of staff in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment;
Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently towards case-specific, department, and office-wide goals.
