HGV Class 2 Driver - Gatwick Airport

Optime Group are looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers to join one of our prestigious clients based in the Gatwick area. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a career within a leading logistics business at the airport.

What's on Offer:

• Rate of Pay: £17.28 per hour (plus Holiday and Pension)
• Overtime paid at x1.5
• Hours: 40 hours per week

• Temp to Perm (performance-based)

Key Duties:

• Consider domestic versus international driving regulations.
• Loading, unloading and delivery of goods, collection of returns and empty media delivered back to the consolidation centre.
• Follow customer specific procedures.
• Maintain regular contact with the warehouse management team.
• Count and check all products, compare to manifest and complete a visual check for damage.
• Report any excesses, shortages or damage to the warehouse manager or team leader in a timely manner.
• Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limits.
• Complete routine vehicle checks and ops 13 paperwork. 
• Comply with appropriate working time legislation.
• Any other reasonable duties and tasks as required.
• Compliance with Tachograph regulations inclusive of CPC training and tachograph operation. 

Requirements:

• You must hold a Full UK Driving License.
• You must hold a valid CPC and Digi Card.
• Great understanding of the English language.
• Drivers who are passionate and take pride in their work.
• Must be able to provide 5-year checkable history, in order for us to obtain your blue airside pass.
• Drug and alcohol testing will be required prior to employment.

Shifts:

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a rolling rota.
