HGV Class 1 Driver - Avonmouth Day Shift

Optime Group is seeking experienced Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support a major logistics operation based in Avonmouth. This role involves trunking between large retail sites and distribution centres, supporting a well-organised, nationwide logistics network. Ideal for professional drivers seeking stable, ongoing work with excellent pay and consistent shifts.

What's on Offer:

• Rate of Pay: £18.00 per hour
• Overtime: £22.00 per hour (after 45 hours per week)
• Night Rate Bonus: +£10 per shift for start times between 00:00–04:00
• Shift Lengths: Typically 9–12 hours
• Start Times: Between 03:00 and 18:00
• Working Pattern: 5 days from 7 (usually Tuesday–Saturday or Wednesday–Sunday).
  1 weekend day is required due to increased weekend demand.
• Weekly Pay: Every Friday
• Temp to Perm: Performance-based opportunity

Key Duties:

• Transporting goods safely between sites, including large retail partners such as B&M, TK Maxx, Boots and Superdrug.
• Completing pre- and post-vehicle checks and promptly reporting any defects.
• Ensuring all transport documentation and digital logs are completed accurately.
• Maintaining full compliance with driving regulations and company policies.
• Following scheduled routes and working to time-sensitive delivery windows.
• Acting as a professional representative of both the client and the logistics operation.

Start Date

Available following successful completion of the initial assessment process, which includes:

• Drugs & Alcohol Test
• Driving Assessment
• Theory Test
• Followed by invitation to a paid induction

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work
• Takes pride in delivering high standards consistently
• Ability to provide 5 years of checkable history (required for Blue Airside Pass clearance)
• Must be able to pass all required assessments
