Healthcare Intake Specialist

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the intake process for patients by gathering and verifying essential personal, medical, and insurance information.
• Provide exceptional customer service via phone and in-person interactions, addressing any inquiries or concerns from patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the patient database, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and support staff to optimize patient care and workflow.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling.
• Assist in identifying discrepancies or issues in the intake process and propose improvements accordingly.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient intake or administrative roles.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining patient confidentiality and data integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
