Healthcare Data & Economics Analyst France & Benelux

TLDR

Conduct analyses and provide insights that guide strategic decisions for market adoption of Intuitive’s minimally invasive surgical products, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Primary Function of Position:

Under the supervision of the France Market Access & Customer Analytics (MACA) Sr. Manager and the Finance & Sales Operations (FSO) Manager MACA Europe, the France & Benelux MACA Business Analyst queries the company’s systems and external data to develop meaningful economical insights that help guide strategic decisions. The MACA Business Analyst works closely with customers, sales and support service leaders to help drive market adoption and optimize for Intuitive’s products and solutions, such as the da Vinci minimally-invasive robotic assisted surgery.

He/she supports the dedicated business team for economic data maintenance and analysis in the fields of Market Access and Custom Analytics. He/she contributes to managing the regional P&L. This is a hands-on and highly analytical role involving the manipulation of large data sets, a keen understanding of hospital economics, and the ability to communicate and develop meaningful work relationships with multiple business partners. Together they will play a vital role conveying the value of Intuitive’s technology to local end-user decision makers, influencers, and other key stakeholders within the Healthcare system, including Payers, Societies and KOL’s.

The Analyst’s deep knowledge in related fields, he/she will be able to better support the MACA team to model customer-specific Hospital Economics, identify related opportunities and develop associated metrics.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the systems data MACA point of contact for strategically imperative customers
  • Translate customer data from economic, profitability analyzes, program-benchmarking, procedure, and efficiency analyzes into meaningful strategic insights to serve as base for recommendations and actions to improve/grow dV programs and consult our customer base
  • Contribute to identify and leverage best data sources, i.e. with national and regional hospital claims data and other specific “big-data” databases analyses. Responsibilities include the analysis and matching of national health data, notably PMSI datasets at hospital-level
  • Serve as direct contact person for data solution partners and data driven Intuitive projects
  • Provide detailed and actionable analysis to drive efficient performance
  • Provide analytical and economic insights as needed, to support the reimbursement strategy developed and led by Global Access, Value & Economics Market Directors
  • Assist the MACA team in developing, articulating, and defending strategy recommendations
  • Participate with cross functional-teams to develop solutions to optimize care standards
  • Work as a customer facing project manager during the data abstracting and ingestion process
  • Work in a cross-functional analytics team comprised of several Intuitive departments

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of analytical experience  
  • Experience of French and/or Benelux health care systems, health care industry, healthcare informatics is beneficial but not required
  • Creativity, curiosity and interest to solve complex cost benefit scenarios is important
  • Advanced Excel skills (MS Access preferred)
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred), dashboard, financial models and report creation
  • Ability to leverage PowerPoint to artfully craft a cohesive and impactful narrative
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with limited supervision from Manager or Sales Operations
