Key Objectives

Develop and implement a strategy and annual business plan for HSE Management in support of the organisation strategy and annual plan.

Develop a culture of continuous improvement across the function.

Adhere to Board reporting and governance requirements.

Develop and implement effective reporting systems for operations and corporate office purposes.
Main Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and consistent behaviour across all function of the operation.

Planning:
-
Developing and delivering an annual HSE business plan including:
- Engaging with the relevant resources in the development of the plan components and integrating the. components into a coherent Business Plan.

Addressing any variances against the plan to ensure delivery of the annual business plan.
Manage the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental management plans and systems
-
Manage the development, implementation and review of Health, Safety and Environmental processes, policies, systems and management plans ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant industry standards, procedures, risk management processes.

Oversee the design and delivery of robust and fit for purpose Safety management systems and culture

Ensure the continuous improvement of site OHS systems and practices that result in increased safety performance.

Design and implement suitable training plans to support OHS initiatives across the site.
Ensuring the work-related health and safety of everybody working at, and visiting, the operations, including:

Meeting the legislative requirements and holding appropriate qualifications
-
Ensure the implementation of safety and health system as well as a safety and health Management Plan in line with the Mining Safety & Health Standards and safety transformation requirements.

Coach the senior site management team to ensure deep understanding of their OHS responsibilities and the business benefits of robust OHS strategies and plans. .
Identifying, evaluating, and addressing risks impacting on, or likely to impact on, the business, including:

Designated risk champion and key CI contact with Newcrest Group for risk management.

Manage and facilitate processes for identifying and evaluating material risks as part of the annual process.

Ensure risk owners are appointed.
Ensuring environmental performance is consistent with long term business plans, including:

Ensure mine compliance with the Environmental programme, conditions, and operating licence conditions by meeting the relevant requirements of the Environmental management system, standards, policies, and procedures

Ensuring the necessary resources are in place, including capable, trained people and regularly monitoring the effectiveness of the services provided by the environment department

Ensuring there are processes in place and operating effectively to identify, evaluate and address environmental risks impacting on, or likely to impact on, the operations
