HEAD OF WEB & APP
The Head of Web and App will lead the overall strategy, governance and execution of LA28’s digital publishing ecosystem — spanning the official website and Games-time mobile app. This person will provide editorial and operational leadership across English and Spanish web and app platforms, ensuring content alignment, quality and consistency that reflects the LA28 brand and supports fan engagement worldwide.
This role will oversee the Web Content and App Content teams, partnering closely with Technology, Communications, Marketing, PMA and IOC stakeholders to deliver seamless content experiences across digital touchpoints. The Head of Web and App will also shape the digital publishing strategy and roadmap and lead the team’s expansion and operational readiness leading up to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for a digital content expert who thrives at the intersection of technology, storytelling and fan experience. This role will report to the VP, Digital Engagement and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy & Leadership
• Define and oversee the strategic direction of LA28’s website and Games-time app content ecosystems, ensuring alignment with brand, communications and Partner marketing priorities.
• Establish content governance, editorial standards and multilingual workflows (EN/ES) to ensure operational excellence and alignment.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Web Content and App Content teams, fostering collaboration and accountability across all digital publishing functions.
• Drive innovation in digital storytelling, UX and fan engagement to enhance the Pre-Games and Games-time experience.
• Provide strategic recommendations for other LA28 related websites such as Ticketing site, Volunteer portal, and Torchbearer Application portal
Operational Excellence & Execution
• Oversee day-to-day publishing operations across web and app platforms, ensuring content is accurate, timely and aligned across all languages
• Partner with Technology to optimize CMS and app publishing tools, workflows, and approvals for efficiency and scalability
• Direct and prioritize the work of the Sr. Web Content Manager (English) and App Content Manager Leads (English and Spanish)
• Ensure content accessibility, brand consistency and quality control across all digital touchpoints
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as primary liaison with Technology, Communications, Marketing, PMA, and IOC stakeholders for all web and app workstreams
• Partner with internal departments (e.g., Ticketing, Volunteer, Torch Relay, Mascot, Brand/Design) to support content planning, updates and launches
• Ensure delivery of partner and sponsor content obligations on web and app platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging, schedules and priorities
Games-Time Readiness & Scaling
• Lead digital publishing scale-up strategy, expanding the team through 2026–2028 to include App Content Leads, Partner Content Coordinators and Support roles
• Develop operational playbooks and Games-time publishing plans for real-time updates, press releases and fan engagement content
• Oversee staffing and training of surge support contractors for high-volume content and Games-time operations
• Ensure readiness for multilingual, real-time, high-traffic publishing during Games-time

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
