Head of UX and Practice

AI overview

Shape the future of UX practice and lead complex client engagements while nurturing a top-tier team of designers and researchers at Each&Other.

WHO WE ARE

Each&Other is a leading UX Design consultancy, based in Dublin with clients around the world, from the USA to the Middle East, EU and APAC. Owner-managed, we pride ourselves on the business results we help our clients achieve – none of which is possible without the fantastic team of consultants we have.  We help the world's most ambitious companies to deliver brilliant product and service experiences.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Head of UX and Practice to join Each&Other. This is a senior leadership role focused equally on:

  1. developing our people and shaping the direction of our UX practice, and
  2. delivering programmes of work for ambitious clients.

This is a new role that is strategically vital to Each&Other's next phase of growth. As a member of the senior management team, you will be instrumental in upholding and advancing our commitment to excellence, directly shaping the future of our UX practice.

This involves not only setting the highest industry standards for our methods, tools, and approaches but also, crucially, ensuring we continue to cultivate the best-in-class team of thinkers, analysts, and designers who are the foundation of our clients’ success.

The Head of UX and Practice plays a dual role:

  • 50% Practice Leadership — developing and evolving the UX Practice; contributing to Each&Other’s external profile;  growing the skills, confidence, and careers of our UX team.
  • 50% Project Leadership — leading and shaping complex UX engagements; ensuring our work remains best-in-class.

You’ll work closely with designers, researchers, consultants, project managers, and leadership to ensure Each&Other continues to deliver outstanding work while continuously evolving how we practice UX.

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO

50% Practice Leadership – Team Development & Mentoring

  • Mentor and coach UX designers and researchers at different career stages, supporting skill development and career progression.
  • Develop and evolve the UX practice, including standards, tools, methods, and ways of working.
  • Stay current with UX industry thinking, tools, and trends, and translate that knowledge into practical improvements for the team.
  • Establish new propositions that fit market needs, in collaboration with marketing and delivery teams.
  • Lead experimentation with AI tools and embed AI processes into delivery methods in ethical, responsible and compliant ways.
  • Contribute to Each&Other’s external profile through writing, speaking, or community engagement.
  • Support a strong practice culture built on quality, feedback, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance to team members as they grow into leadership and mentoring roles themselves.

50% Project Leadership – Leading Complex Client Engagements

  • Lead and shape complex UX engagements, providing senior design and research direction across projects.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to guide multidisciplinary teams and ensure high-quality outcomes for clients.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, helping to frame problems, guide decision-making, and build trusted relationships.
  • Support sales activity by shaping approaches, defining scopes, and contributing to pitches and proposals.
  • Ensure work is delivered efficiently, to a high standard, and aligned with Each&Other’s values and ways of working.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

  • 10+ years’ experience working at a senior, lead or principal level across UX design and user research.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end UX engagements, including problem definition, approach selection, delivery, and outcome evaluation.
  • Accountable for UX decisions in high-stakes or ambiguous client contexts, rather than executing under direction.
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain complex UX ideas clearly to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and making final UX decisions under constraint.
  • Experience mentoring or managing designers/researchers and raising the quality of others’ work.
  • Portfolio demonstrating ownership of end-to-end UX programmes in real-world, commercial contexts.
  • Strategic thinking — you can zoom out to see the bigger picture while still engaging deeply with the details when needed.
  • Practical mindset — you balance quality, speed, and commercial realities to deliver great work on time.
  • You are already eligible to live and work in the EU.

TO NOTE

We believe that true flexible working is about choice. If you’re not based in Dublin but would like to work remotely from elsewhere in Ireland, we’d still love to hear from you—provided you’re happy to travel to Dublin when needed for client workshops and team-focused events.
