We're looking for an experienced Head of Security Operations to join our L&G CISO team.
This is a highly varied role where you'll lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Centre (SOC); this includes triaging the latest threat intelligence, ensuring Incidents are responded to effectively and setting the detection and response strategy.

What you’ll be doing:
- Driving the development of Threat Intelligence services, ensuring Strategic, Tactical and Operational Threat Intelligence is collated and consumed effectively to help ensure Legal & General’s key assets are protected
- Ensuring there is effective management of incident response activities by advising on incident identification, assessment, classification, escalation, investigation, mitigation, monitoring and reporting to help ensure Legal and General’s cyber incidents are managed in a timely and effectively manner to limit impact
- Leading, motivating and developing employees at all levels to maintain a high performing team culture
- Acting as the primary interface between Legal and General and the SOC service providers and ensuring they meet contractually defined Service Level Agreements; by monitoring process adherence and identifying continuous improvement activities needed to achieve operational performance and risk management objectives related to the SOC
- Ensuring the Security Operation strategy and roadmaps are fit for the future across Data Security, Threat Intelligence, Detection and Response and Cybercrime activities
- Defining and collecting metrics / KPIs and periodically reporting to leadership on SOC events / incidents and overall effectiveness of the security operations programme to help ensure SOC metrics are in line with Legal & General’s risk appetite
Who we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in running a high performing Security Operations team ideally in a regulated environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience in utilising various security operations tools, technologies and processes including SIEM, MITRE and XDR/EDR
- Previous experience of effective utilisation of Threat Intelligence within Security Operations
- Experience of developing, writing and implementing effective strategies within Security Operations
- You should also have experience in leading security operational meetings with key internal and external stakeholders and managing relationship with service providers
- Experience in global delivery operations support model (e.g. 24-7 / 16-8)
- Any Information Security and/or Information Technology industry certifications (CISSP, CISM or equivalent) would be a huge plus
