Head of Security

AI overview

Lead the security strategy at Cadence, overseeing application security, risk management, and cultivating a proactive culture of security awareness.

Re‑architecting U.S. healthcare demands speed, precision, and an obsession with details. Cadence is building a remote care delivery system that keeps older people healthy, out of the hospital, and at home. By pairing each patient with a dedicated clinical team that reviews their health every day, versus every few months, we catch issues early and intervene before they escalate. The result: measurably better outcomes for patients and less administrative burden for clinicians.

Today, Cadence supports tens of thousands of  active patients nationwide. Our AI‑powered system and scalable clinical model enable proactive, population‑level care. We’re among the fastest‑growing companies in healthtech, and we’re just getting started.

We are seeking a Head of Security who can shape and lead our security strategy across both product and enterprise domains. You will be leading the architecture, practices, and culture that will protect our patients, partners, and employees. You’ll set the vision, grow the team, and get hands-on when needed to ensure security is embedded everywhere we operate.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Establish a unified long-term security strategy spanning both product and enterprise environments.
  • Own application and platform security architecture, threat modeling, secure SDLC practices, vulnerability management, penetration testing/red teams, and third-party security reviews.
  • Oversee endpoint, network, and identity/access management programs; data protection; incident detection and response; and enterprise risk reduction.
  • Build playbooks, standards, and automation that scale across engineering and IT.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, IT, and Infrastructure to drive adoption of security best practices.
  • Be the visible champion for security across Cadence, cultivating awareness and a culture of shared responsibility.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on policies, audits, and regulatory readiness.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Ability to thrive in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment with direct communication and feedback.
  • Passion for owning problems end-to-end and balancing strategy with tactical execution.
  • Track record of building, scaling, and leading security teams across both product and enterprise domains.
  • Hands-on technical depth in threat modeling, security architecture, cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and code reviews.
  • Experience with enterprise security programs including identity/access management, endpoint security, and incident response.
  • Strong ability to identify and mitigate risks across business processes, operations, and technology.

WHO WE ARE:

We move fast, raise standards, and own outcomes. We hire drivers, not passengers – people who take initiative, solve problems, and sweat the details because lives depend on it. Momentum matters in healthcare where slow decisions cost lives. At Cadence, we set a high bar and back each other relentlessly to clear it. If you’re ready to do the best work of your career and make a real impact in healthcare, join us.

WHAT YOU’LL GET:

  • Autonomy to tackle big, complex problems that matter
  • An opportunity to improve lives every single day
  • A chance to shape a category‑defining company at scale
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Competitive total compensation and meaningful equity
  • TelaDoc (virtual primary care)
  • National and local discounts powered by TriNet
  • Unlimited PTO and paid holidays
  • Remote equipment setup and home office stipend
