Our client is a leading player in the Supply and Installation of Coffee Machines to commercial businesses. Join this reputable, family run company as their Head of Sales, and take them to their next level of growth. Based in their offices in either Essex (with travel to their office in Norwich) you will lead and manage the sales team. This includes planning strategy, monitoring and reporting on team activity, and the recruitment and onboarding of your team. You will also support the team to close orders, spending time with customers to win the deal
As Head of Sales, you will play a critical role in guiding, coaching, and managing a high-performing sales team, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets.

You will be expected to work with the leadership team on developing the company strategy, establishing goals, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, strategic thinker, and passionate about delivering results.

Responsibilities:

Team leadership & management:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and training to enhance the team’s performance and development.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear expectations for team members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-energy work environment that encourages accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

Performance monitoring & reporting:

  • Track and analyse sales data to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for business growth.
  • Ensure effective use of CRM and other sales tools to manage pipeline, track leads, and monitor customer interactions.

 

Sales strategy & planning:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed business goals, aligning with the overall company objectives.
  • Analyse market trends and customer needs to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, client experience, client care) to align sales efforts with company-wide initiatives.

Recruitment & onboarding:

  • Assist with the recruitment process, selecting top talent to join the sales team.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new hires into the team, providing them with necessary training and resources.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading B2B sales in a high-growth SME/scale-up environment, ideally taking a business from c.£10m to £30m+ in revenue.
  • Demonstrable track record of building and executing a successful sales strategy that drives sustained revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition.
  • Strong commercial leadership experience, including leading, developing, and performance-managing a high-performing sales team.
  • Evidence of consistently achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets at both individual and team levels.
  • Deep experience in B2B pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and performance analytics, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Expert user of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and confident with reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, capable of aligning cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Operations) around growth priorities.
