From our beginnings in 2007 to becoming the global leader in GPS player tracking, innovation has always driven us forward — and our people make it possible.

We work hard, we celebrate success, and together we're creating something special. The next breakthrough in sport could have your name on it.

About the Role

We're seeking a senior commercial leader to take full ownership of the Asia-Pacific region as STATSports' Head of Sales / Territory Manager. Asia-Pacific represents one of the most significant growth opportunities in global sports technology, spanning some of the world's most passionate sporting nations and fastest-growing performance markets.

The primary focus of this role is Japan, South Korea, and China, with scope to develop additional markets across the region over time. Each of these markets has a deep sporting culture, world-class professional leagues, and a national commitment to performance innovation at the highest levels.

This is a high-autonomy, senior role for someone who understands how elite sport operates across Asia, has the relationships to open doors at the highest levels, and the commercial sophistication to close deals in markets that reward trust, long-term thinking, and cultural fluency above all else.

You'll be STATSports' most senior commercial presence across the region, personally driving new business across football, rugby, athletics, and adjacent elite sports, while building the foundations for a scalable Asia-Pacific business.

Candidates must be based in Japan, South Korea, or China to be considered.

What You'll Do

Commercial Leadership

  • Own the commercial performance of the Asia-Pacific territory, with full accountability for revenue targets, pipeline health, and regional forecasting

  • Lead negotiations with C-suite, Sporting Directors, Heads of Performance, Technical Directors, and club ownership groups across Japan, South Korea, China, and the broader region

  • Build and execute a territory growth strategy tailored to each market's sporting calendar, procurement culture, and decision-making cycles

  • Leverage your existing network of elite sports contacts across the region to generate immediate pipeline and build a sustainable book of business

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with federations, leagues, distributors, and performance organisations where relevant

  • Maximise commercial return through disciplined deal structuring, pricing matrix management, and creative negotiation

Market & Business Development

  • Drive new market penetration across the region's professional and high-performance sport ecosystems, targeting J.League and Japan Football Association, K League and Korea Football Association, Chinese Super League and Chinese Football Association, national rugby and athletics programmes across Japan, South Korea, and China, and other high-performance organisations across the broader Asia-Pacific region

  • Navigate each market's relationship-driven sales environment with patience, cultural intelligence, and a long-term commercial mindset

  • Position STATSports as the partner of choice for performance tracking and data across Asia-Pacific's elite and semi-elite sporting organisations

  • Maintain deep market intelligence on competitors, trends, and emerging opportunities across the region

  • Represent STATSports at key industry events, federation meetings, and client sites across Asia-Pacific and internationally

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene — all leads, activities, and pipeline stages updated daily with accuracy

  • Prepare well-structured, sport-specific sales proposals and commercial agreements tailored to the expectations of Japanese stakeholders

  • Report on regional performance, forecasts, and strategic progress to senior leadership on a regular cadence

  • Drive continuous improvement across sales processes, commercial frameworks, and personal performance

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in a sports technology, sports data, or high-performance sports commercial environment

  • Proven track record closing significant commercial deals with professional sports organisations in Japan, South Korea, or China

  • Demonstrated experience selling into elite sport, with GPS performance tracking, sports data, or comparable sports technology strongly preferred

  • An established, active network within professional sport across at least one of the primary markets (Japan, South Korea, China), with appetite to develop presence in the others

  • Deep understanding of Asian business culture, procurement processes, and relationship-led sales dynamics across the region

  • Fluency in Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin, combined with strong working English for internal reporting and global stakeholder engagement

  • Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments with patience and strategic discipline

  • Strong commercial acumen, able to think strategically across a territory while managing the detail of individual deal cycles

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and internationally as required

It Would Be Great If You Had

  • An existing network spanning J.League clubs and the Japan Football Association

  • Commercial experience across South Korea's K League or Korean sporting federations

  • Experience operating in the Chinese sports market, including Chinese Super League clubs or the Chinese Football Association

  • Multilingual capability across more than one of the primary region languages (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin)

  • Experience managing or mentoring a regional sales team or junior BDEs

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform

  • Familiarity with how European sports technology companies operate in Asian markets
