Head of Quality Assurance

The Head of Quality Assurance (QA) leads the quality management efforts to ensure that all software, systems, and user experiences meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of agile software development, gaming compliance regulations, and end-user expectations in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry. The ideal candidate will drive quality strategies that enhance operational efficiency and deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Define and implement the QA strategy across all the service offerings within the organisation.
  • Establish quality benchmarks for software performance, scalability, security, and compliance.

Framework and Strategy

  • Design and oversee testing frameworks for the internal igaming platforms.
  • Implement automated testing strategies to optimize QA processes and accelerate product release cycles.

Team Management

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing QA team, including test engineers and automation specialists.
  • Foster collaboration between QA, development, and operations teams to embed quality into the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure continuous professional development of the QA team.

Process Optimization

  • Implement and refine agile QA practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Work with development teams to integrate QA into the DevOps pipeline and align testing efforts with release goals.
  • Drive innovation in testing methodologies, tools, and technologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect density, test coverage, and release quality to identify areas for improvement.

Customer-Centric Approach

  • Collaborate with product and customer service teams to address player feedback and improve user satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the QA function prioritizes a seamless, engaging, and error-free gaming experience.
  • Partner with product owners to define acceptance criteria and test cases for new features.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years in QA roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in IT or iGaming.
  • Exceptional team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience in managing QA for high-traffic web applications.
  • Expertise in test automation tools (such as Selenium, Appium, JMeter) and defect tracking systems (such as Jira).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and version control systems.
  • Ability to inspire a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
