Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
The Creative Studio is Anthropic’s in-house creative team responsible for the brand expression across Anthropic and Claude. We care about craft, making things by hand and using AI when it makes sense. The team is growing, and we’re looking for people who do excellent work to join us. The stakes are real, and there’s room to shape what all this becomes.
About the role
The Head of Production sits at the intersection of creative excellence and operational rigor. You’ll lead a team of producers, design the production structures and workflows we’ll rely on as we grow, and build and manage an agency ecosystem that gives us access to world-class creative talent at every scale. Day to day, you’ll be the person ensuring that ambitious creative projects move from concept to completion with the quality and efficiency Anthropic’s brands deserves — while also thinking strategically about what our production capabilities need to look like a year or more from now. As Head of Production, you will be a foundational leader in that effort — responsible for building, scaling, and running the production organization that brings our creative vision to life across every discipline and format.
Lead and develop a team of producers across multiple creative disciplines, setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth, and building a collaborative, high-performing production culture
Design and evolve the production team’s structure, hiring roadmap, and operating model to meet Anthropic’s growing creative needs — helping shape what our production organization looks like at scale
Own production budgets, including forecasting, allocation, and financial reporting across projects and the broader team, ensuring resources are used effectively and strategically
Manage contractor and freelance staffing across disciplines — building a flexible resourcing model that can scale up and down in response to creative output demands
Evaluate, onboard, and curate an agency ecosystem — selecting partners that are aligned with Anthropic’s brand standards and can deliver consistently high-quality work, and managing those relationships over time
Establish and refine production best practices, workflows, and quality standards across the studio, ensuring consistency and efficiency as the team and output grow
Partner closely with creative leadership to translate creative briefs and ambitious project scopes into realistic production plans — balancing creative ambition with timeline and budget realities
Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, marketing, communications, and product teams to understand project needs, align on priorities, and keep production moving smoothly across the organization
Track production performance, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and continuously improve the way we work — from intake and scheduling through to delivery
Identify tooling needs across the organization — evaluating, implementing, and driving adoption of systems such as digital asset management (DAM), project delivery platforms, and resourcing/utilization tracking tools
Have 10+ years of experience in creative production, with a track record of leading production teams or functions — ideally within a brand, marketing, or creative studio environment
Have deep experience managing production budgets, contractor staffing, and agency relationships at scale
Understand a wide range of creative disciplines and production formats — from video and photography to digital, experiential, and print — and can manage production across them
Are a strong operator who can build systems, processes, and workflows that scale — and who enjoys the challenge of bringing order and clarity to complex, fast-moving creative work
Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, moving fluidly between planning for the future and keeping current projects on track
Are an excellent communicator who can work effectively with creative teams, business stakeholders, and external partners alike
Thrive in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments and are comfortable shaping a function that is still being built
Care about the quality and consistency of creative output, and understand how production excellence contributes to a strong brand
Experience building or scaling a production function from early stages, including hiring and structuring a team
A background in creative agency environments, in-house brand studios, or high-growth technology companies
Familiarity with emerging production tools and workflows — including AI-assisted production — and comfort evaluating new technologies for the team
Experience working on brand or marketing creative for companies in the technology or AI space
A track record of building and managing strong agency or vendor relationships, with a clear sense of how to evaluate and retain creative partners

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
