Role Overview

The Finance Director is responsible for the day-to-day financial activities of the organization and supports and advises the Climate Control Americas Management Team on the financial strategy and requirements.

Work Environment: Hybrid (two days on-site minimum)

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

• Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
• Partner with commercial and executive team to drive commercial decision making and strategy.
• Trusted advisor to the executive team to provide financial expertise and support business planning by providing financial analysis and modelling.
• Identify and measure key success drivers
• Lead and mentor teams for ongoing professional growth throughout the site

Financial & Strategy Planning

• Work with management to produce annual forecasts and budgets that will achieve Climate Controls business objectives.
• Support development and implementation of strategic objectives and targets through strategy deployment process
• Develop and maintain the ongoing strategic plan including proformas, capital spending, and resource allocation plans.
• Identify, plan and implement strategic improvement projects.

Financial Reporting

• Comply with all financial reporting and audit requirements ensuring that all group and statutory reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial accounts and associated analysis.
• Work with other departments to ensure the integrity of all numbers collected at month end through the central reporting system

Financial Control

• Implement continuous and comprehensive financial control in accordance with IMI Guidance.
• Through implementation of appropriate system of authorities and approvals ensure that budgets for revenue and capital spend are not exceeded.
• Ensure appropriate control is in place over cash transactions.
• Support evaluations of new business and contract reviews to ensure margins and overall financial returns meet objectives.
• Ensure appropriate accounting for stock including monthly reconciliation between book and physical stock. Ensure stock take procedures and valuation complies with IMI requirements

Management Accounting

• Prepare monthly management accounts to include:
• Profit performance
• Sector sales performance by customer / gross margin
• Detailed gross margin analysis by item group
• Overhead spend analysis by cost center
• Summary bridge vs. plan
• Support monitoring of performance against strategic targets using Bridges, Cognos, and cost center actual vs. budget reports.
• Ensure results are clearly disseminated to all leadership group

Transaction Processing

• Oversee all aspects of sales and purchase ledger to ensure efficient transaction processing and continuous improvement of processes.
• Work with AR department to ensure effective credit control and collections to meet DSO and % past due objectives for the business.
• Ensure employee expenses / credit card spend is correctly controlled and accounted for.
• Ensure cashbook is correctly administered and that all key control accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.

Taxation

• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of information to IMI, including quarterly and annual filings.
• Work with the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with all payroll requirements for the business.
• Provide information as required by IMI to enable tax computations to be carried out and submitted on time.

Payroll

• Oversee the payroll function including headcount reporting and bonus accruals and payments.

Treasury

• Ensure all bank accounts are correctly run in accordance with bank mandates and IMI Treasury requirements.
• Ensure that currency risk is managed in line with IMI Treasury guidelines. 

Other

• Ad-hoc internal and cross-functional project activities as identified.

Critical Competencies for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a combination of manufacturing and/or public accounting roles with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
• Background in manufacturing with large, complex, global organizations with success establishing long-term financial forecasts based on anticipated sales.
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills to quickly resolve unique and challenging business issues.
• Solid analytical and creative skills blended with practicality
• Strong computer and financial systems integration experience.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Best in class knowledge of financial practices, GAAP, cost management, supply chain, and manufacturing/operations is required.
• Highly skilled at organization and personnel development.
• Background in large matrix global organizations with success in driving process improvement.
• Incumbent must be able to lead change from a vertically integrated business model to an international business that stretches the globe.
• Cost accounting experience required
• A formal accountancy qualification (e.g., CPA) and evidence of continuing professional education post qualification.
• Proficient in MRP, ERP and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) is required.

Pay range: $133k – $152k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
