About the role

We are looking for a visionary and hands-on Head of Engineering to serve as the technological leader for a key business unit. This role requires an executive who can operate as a Business Unit CTO, balancing deep technical mastery with the strategic vision to scale our products, processes, and people. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction, ensuring operational excellence, and developing a high-performing, scalable engineering organization. (We will  consider all nationalities in preferred geographical locations, ready to work from (GMT -2 to GMT +2) Time Zones)

What you’ll get to do

  • Technical Strategy & Architecture: Own and drive the technical roadmap and architecture, ensuring the design and operation of highly available, scalable systems (99.999%+ uptime) that support millions of daily transactions.
  • Organizational Scaling: Design, build, and lead efficient engineering teams that can scale with the business. Establish and implement engineering processes that maximize execution speed, quality, and leverage.
  • Talent & Leadership Development: Attract, retain, and develop senior engineering talent. Drive clear succession planning and actively mentor managers to grow into independent, high-impact leaders.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Tackle the most difficult technical and organizational challenges, breaking them down into core components and driving effective, practical, and timely resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Impact: Actively partner with Product, Business Leaders, Compliance, and other Engineering teams to solve systemic problems across the organization and ensure technical strategy is aligned with business outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Embed best-in-class practices for reliability, observability, security, and compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS) by design into all engineering functions.

To succeed in this role, we think you should have

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Head, Director, CTO, or VP Engineering role at a high-growth company operating at significant scale.
  • Proven ability to operate as a Business Unit CTO, balancing technical debt, innovation, and rapid delivery.
  • Deep expertise in Systems Architecture, Scalability, and Reliability (distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, high-availability design).
  • Demonstrated experience in Engineering Process & Team Design, including successfully leading teams through periods of high growth and process maturation.
  • A strong track record of Impact Through Leverage—improving throughput and quality through technical/process innovation, rather than solely increasing headcount.
