ABOUT THE TEAM

As the Head of Engineering for Member Lifecycle, you will lead a growing team of Engineers and Engineering Managers dedicated to the end-to-end member experience. You will shape the technical strategy and roadmap in close partnership with the Head of Product for Member Lifecycle, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. Your team is responsible for how members progress through their journey with Tide, ensuring every interaction is seamless, relevant, and high-value.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be a technical leader playing a pivotal role in reimagining the lifecycle of a Tide member. You will set an engineering vision that aligns with the product vision to drive incremental delivery across our global markets. This is a technically hands-on role where you will provide guidance on architecture, software engineering best practices, and system design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lifecycle Personalization: Define and drive the direction for Tide’s personalization and recommendation engines to tailor the member experience.
  • Communication Framework: Lead the development and optimization of our communication frameworks and CRM integration to ensure timely, relevant engagement across all touchpoints.
  • Technical Strategy: Manage Engineering Managers (EMs) within the domain, focusing on technical leadership, architecture, and long-term engineering strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to leverage data for rapid prototyping and impactful solution delivery.
  • Excellence & Mentorship: Foster a culture of technical excellence, security, and continuous learning while mentoring the next generation of engineering talent

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience delivering high-quality, customer-focused digital products.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep expertise in distributed architectures, fintech, and ideally, experience with CRM systems and automated communication workflows.
  • Front-End Knowledge: Strong understanding of front-end architecture (preferably Flutter) and scalability to ensure a smooth UI/UX across the member journey.
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to translate complex lifecycle goals into clear technical roadmaps and communicate the "why" to stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing managers and scaling high-performing engineering teams

OUR TECH STACK

We use the latest iterations of Flutter and Dart with a modular architecture to build scalable applications. Our stack includes state management, dependency injection, and navigation tools to streamline development. We emphasize code generation, backend communication efficiency, and BDD testing. Monitoring, analytics, and CI/CD are powered by Firebase, DataDog, LaunchDarkly, and GitHub Actions for seamless deployment and reliability.


We use:

  • Frontend: Flutter (Mobile), Angular (Web)
    Backend: Java (17+), Spring Boot
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Messaging: Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS
  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes (EKS), AWS
