Head of Commercial & Partnerships - Embedded Finance

TLDR

Drive mmob’s commercial execution and manage strategic partnerships to convert high-impact projects into revenue and bridge product, sales, and the market.

About mmob

mmob is a London-based fintech building infrastructure for embedded finance. We work with Tier 1 banks, fintech platforms, and technology innovators to help deploy their products at scale. We are scaling commercially as a regulated, compliant business and this role sits at the centre of that work.

The Role

The Head of Commercial & Partnerships drives mmob’s commercial execution, manages strategic partnerships, and takes ownership of high-impact projects across the business. The role has ownership of complex external relationships and works cross-functionally to deliver commercial, product, and marketing outcomes.

While overall strategy is set by the CEO and Board, this role turns strategy into revenue, converts partnerships into commercial outcomes, and bridges product, sales, and the market.

This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. It offers significant exposure to Tier 1 financial institutions, fintech partners, and industry programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Execution

  • Execute the company’s commercial strategy in line with priorities set by the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Support the development of annual commercial plans, revenue targets, and market focus areas.
  • Provide structured feedback on commercial progress, risks, and opportunities based on client interactions and market insights.
  • Monitor the fintech landscape and competitive environment to inform commercial decision-making.

 Partnerships & Enterprise Sales

  • Lead end-to-end enterprise partnership and sales cycles with Tier 1 banks and larger fintechs.
  • Manage long-term relationships with financial institutions through complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes.
  • Respond to and coordinate RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and procurement requirements.
  • Secure and manage participation in key accelerator programmes to drive proof of concepts and commercial outcomes.
  • Manage channel, referral, and technology partnerships, including cloud and platform partners such as AWS and Google.
  • Develop potential use cases for enterprise clients and partners in close collaboration with Product and Technology teams.
  • Own the pipeline from first conversation to signed contract, across fintech prospects and ecosystem partners.

 Product & Go-To-Market Alignment

  • Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to align commercial requirements with product development.
  • Provide structured feedback into the product roadmap based on client discussions, market needs, and pilot outcomes.
  • Help shape reusable demos and assets that effectively present the product to clients and prospects.
  • Support the rollout of self-service capabilities by aligning partner and client needs with product feasibility.

 Marketing & External Communications

  • Represent the business externally across industry events, programmes, and client meetings.
  • Own and execute external commercial communications, including product marketing materials and sales decks.
  • Lead the relaunch and ongoing management of the company’s website and digital presence.
  • Publish content for social channels and build mmob’s presence and reputation across the fintech ecosystem.
  • Coordinate the company’s participation in accelerators, conferences, and industry programmes.

Requirements

  • A background in fintech, banking innovation, or B2B SaaS with a financial services focus.
  • Sold directly to Tier 1 banks or large fintechs, with experience across 6 to 12-month enterprise sales cycles.
  • Hands-on experience with procurement, compliance, and RFP processes from end to end.
  • Led complex negotiations and closed significant deals.
  • Built and managed partnerships across banks, fintech platforms, and cloud ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn partnerships into revenue and proof of concepts into contracts.
  • Exposure to Financial Conduct Authority processes would be an advantage.

Skills & Attributes

  • Comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments without losing momentum.
  • Writes clear sales decks, RFP responses, and website content with minimal direction.
  • Able to translate client needs into product requirements and influence a roadmap without owning it.
  • Manages competing priorities without losing pace or precision.
  • Strong commercial acumen, high ownership, and low ego.
  • At ease with ambiguity and the pace of a lean start-up.

Benefits

  • Shape the commercial infrastructure of a fintech at a pivotal point in its growth.
  • Direct access to the Executive Officer and genuine influence over how the business develops.
  • A role with real breadth, from closing enterprise deals to building partnerships that define mmob’s next chapter.
  • Work in a collaborative environment where your work is visible and your decisions matter
  • Hybrid working model with a London HQ and international reach.
