Head of Adventure Expansion - Maternity Cover

TLDR

Lead the growth of Much Better Adventures' unique travel offerings while managing a dedicated team and refining product strategy for a rapidly evolving market.

Our Mission

Much Better Adventures exists to make adventure travel a powerful force for good.

We connect travellers with expert local hosts to deliver incredible small-group adventures in the world’s most spectacular places - while ensuring tourism benefits the communities that make these adventures possible.

Our ambition is bold: to build the world’s most exciting positive impact adventure travel platform, continually expanding our range of adventures that travellers return to year after year.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to lead the continued growth of one of the most exciting adventure travel ranges in the industry.

The adventures on the Much Better Adventures platform sit at the heart of everything we do. The quality of our hosts, the distinctiveness of our trips and the strength of our adventure categories directly shape both the traveller experience and our growth as a business.

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Adventure Expansion (12-month maternity cover) to lead the next phase of growth across our range of adventures.

You’ll lead a team of Expansion Managers, guiding the growth of all of our new adventures. You’ll support the team in the full new trip development journey, from discovering exceptional local hosts and shaping distinctive itineraries to launching and improving adventures on the platform.

Working closely with Operations, Marketing and Commercial, you’ll ensure new adventures launch successfully, resonate with travellers and continue to perform strongly over time. You will lead the delivery of our expansion strategy, ensuring we continue to build and evolve a high-performing range of adventures.

Adventure travel is evolving rapidly, and Much Better Adventures is helping shape what the future looks like. This role plays an important part in that journey - ensuring we continue to design unique adventures our travellers love most.

Context for the Role

This is a maternity cover position. While the broad strategic direction is already defined, there is significant scope to refine execution and identify opportunities to strengthen the performance of the product range. You will act as steward of Much Better Adventures’ evolving range of adventures - ensuring the structure of the portfolio, its key product pillars, and its commercial strength continue to develop over time.

Leading the Expansion Team

  • Managing and supporting a team of Expansion Managers
  • Setting clear priorities and guiding workloads across the team
  • Coaching Expansion Managers to make confident commercial decisions and deliver successful launches

Commercial Strategic Insight & Collaboration

  • Analyse the commercial performance of the product range and identifying opportunities to optimise the range
  • Using data and market insight to refine our product offering, particularly for the UK and the US adventure travel markets
  • Partnering with internal teams to guide product decisions with strong commercial insight
